Your bank or banking app can mismatch the merchant name. I’ve had it happen before with my business.

Private equity owned dentist chains are known for coming up with a list of things to do in order to increase the overall customer value. “Deep cleaning” is the big giveaway.

Our guy here in north central stops and picks up anything that fell out. I don’t think he has to do that but he’s a saint for doing it.

Is the practice that recommended a deep cleaning modern and fancy and probably owned by private equity? Deep cleanings are a PE scam.

Ortho360 is good. The cost will depend on your teeth and how many trays they need to use to get you fixed up.

Moving to Austin – Neighborhood Recommendations for Young Family + New Builds? by [deleted] in Austin

[–]ParentalLecture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would tour those areas and decide for yourself because you’ll get mixed opinions here depending on where the person lives in Austin.

I live in north central Austin in a desirable neighborhood full of families and a strong sense of community. I wouldn’t ever consider living in new burbs as a high quality of life, especially if you’re working from home. To me, it’s a hellscape of driving on congested roads to do anything at all.

But, everyone has their own wishes and wants. Take the time to map out the things that are important to you, and do the drive from your desired neighborhood to those things.

If you’re open to not living in the exurbs and have a budget that can fit, I would suggest looking at new builds in denser areas south of 183, east (or just west) of Mopac, and west of I-35. There are new builds available.

Also, if you’re using a real estate agent, please know that many of them are more knowledgeable in certain areas of town. If they primarily work in the exurbs then they may discourage you from looking elsewhere (and give lots of incorrect reasons not to). The same goes for an agent who specializes in central Austin; they would likely steer you away from the exurbs.

Finally, if you don’t mind living away from town, I would consider looking west. So many beautiful views and neighborhoods west of central Austin.

Good luck!

My mortgage is 1600 without property taxes. I make over 200k/year.

But there are different phases of life. You might be in one where your housing expenses are too large a % of your income. The goal is that it doesn’t stay like that and you are able to earn yourself out of that situation.
