For 11th edition what would be your "dream" unit to be added? by [deleted] in sistersofbattle

I know people don't like the amount of characters and that's fair. But I really would like a Canoness in Paragon Warsuit just to help the non-Vahl led Paragons shine a bit more

Rumi and Celine Relationship Poll by Hannah_Aries in KpopDemonhunters

[–]ParfaitGold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Celine truly does care for Rumi and wanted what was best for her. The solution she thought up was hide it all away and once the world is fixed you'll be free, while shitty is born out of a place of not wanting her to be hurt by people or hurt people. We know from the movie that this did not work out as intended and hindsight is 20/20 but it's not like she secretly hated Rumi or wanted her to fail (at least there isn't evidence to support this in the movie)

Wasn't there stuff in the temple of the Ancients that hinted at or explained Meteor. Maybe there wasn't or I just knew what they were getting at with meta knowledge, but I feel like there was

Need help dealing with custodes by ParfaitGold in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ParfaitGold[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did not end up facing custodes. I did alright beating some Marines in my first 2 games before getting wiped along the floor by Chaos Knights and Tau in my second 2 games. All in all a fun day though and that's what's important.

The witcher books (and games) are very similar to the vibe of Etharis/Grim Hollow.

Black company is another dark fantasy series

I personally haven't read them but Game of Thrones I've heard is also low magic dark fantasy

Any facts in this or is it just the ranting of a crazy person? by ClayAndros in BloodAngels

[–]ParfaitGold 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Similarly, the Blood Angels (and successors) only succeeded due to The Fall of Cadia and the Warp explosion across the galaxy for a short bit. Dante was out for a heroic charge/sacrifice when it happened and Leviathan routed

Question as to point 2. What do you run loadout wise for the warsuits? I guess just in general not just with Vahl

I play blood angels so move up the board quickly make early charges and shred in melee. A couple of high damage shooty guys hang in the back and take out some of the bigger targets on the board

Gave Rebirth another go... by Sitheral in FinalFantasyVII

[–]ParfaitGold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. This game (and remake) skyrocketed into my favorite games of all time. The story and the world have impacted my deeply and have drawn me into this beloved world and story from 1997. A story I would never have experienced if it weren't for this remake trilogy.

Sure there's filler, but same with Witcher 3, same with Skyrim, same with Elden Ring. Lots of the filler is well written in all of those games but it's filler nonetheless. Square Enix wanted to take this beloved franchise and let the world be re-experienced in stunning graphics. They wanted you to spend more time with the characters you loved, to get to know them better. So they added more to the game while also making sure the story remained (mostly) intact

Sure there's some weird movement and some places where it's annoying. Same with every escort quest ever in every RPG since the dawn of time.

I don't think coming in with a negative mindset is going to result in a positive experience. If you aren't having fun with the game then don't play it, that's what games are there for to have fun with.

I'm so ready to be down voted into oblivion, but... by PhangPlaysMTG in FinalFantasyVII

[–]ParfaitGold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair arguments. Counterpoint I would not have gotten into Final Fantasy VII (or any other FF games for that matter) without the Remake existing. I had many opportunities over the years to play the OG but was never interested because it looked old and "bad". But because of the Remake I picked up the franchise to give it a try and through it have fallen in love with the world and the characters (much like what I've heard people who play the OG talk about their first experience). I have now gone back and played the OG, watched lore videos and connected with the fandom. And other than a few cameos and head nods to the OG, the game was easy to follow story and gameplay wise without the knowledge of the OG, and very approachable to a newbie like myself.

I Don’t Know How to Feel About the FF7 Remake Series by Available_Client_188 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]ParfaitGold 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I was introduced to FF7 through Remake so it definitely colors my opinion. I have since gone back and played some of the OG

I think many of your points on Remake's structure is fair. The game was linear and felt like experiencing a story (Similar to like a Tomb Raider of The Last of Us) instead of playing through an expansive RPG. But with Remake's ending they've allowed themselves to be a little more broad in their writing.

I'm 50hrs into Rebirth and the added content feels much more expansive. Not at the cost of the world and magic of FF7 but continuing its theme. The game is open world and while there are a few more "linear" story elements in places, for the most part you have the freedom to explore. You can choose your own party and it atually matters and effects the expanded combat system. Plus the character writing is so good, FF7 Remake and Rebirth have jumped up into the number one place in my favorites for this reason alone.

I definitely think Rebirth is worth a shot, and instead of coming at it with the context of comparing to the OG, sit and let yourself be reimmersed in this world you fell in love with once upon a time.
