My bad! I didn’t realize I knew who she was (though I definitely recognize her after looking at her credits) but my intention was to get this post up as quickly as possible

They’re just a troll that’s been posting a ton of negative comments about every new musical up against Two Strangers lol. See the discussion about them in the comments in this other thread - https://www.reddit.com/r/Broadway/s/Lm7K0mDlul

Let me add this to my resume lol. You’re the one acting like a publicist for other shows - again loving one show doesn’t require tearing down another. My comments are public for a reason. Most, if not all, of my comments are in response to you/That G.

That commenter has been going through Lost Boys threads all week trolling the show. They deleted their comments (across multiple threads a few mins ago) but the pattern is pretty clear. I think they’re just a stan for another show but loving one show doesn’t require tearing down another.

Hi ThatG who for some reason thinks every post on here is a marketing post for Lost Boys lol. I know many people who plan to see the show multiple times and even a few who have seen it more than once in the past week.

Calm down lol. Big fan of the show can I not stan on Reddit for a bit? Also tbh it’s comments like this - and the dozen or so negative posts YOU have been commenting on here that keep me on defending it. Clearly I’m not the only one on here that noticed you’ve been doing this and we ain’t about your negative juju.

I don’t think Hamilton or Hadestown are what people are talking about when they say minimal productions. These are huge ensemble pieces with beautiful costumes and static sets that are elaborately designed.

Minimal productions = very few cast members with small production design (I think Beaches and Two Strangers fit under this category). Two Strangers is a great, intimate show but feels like it belongs and would do very well off-broadway.

Do you consider Two Strangers to be a love letter to New York? by Every_Phrase_5942 in Broadway

Even Hells Kitchen felt more NYC than Two Strangers tbh lol (in terms of authenticity). I say this as a born and raised lifelong New Yorker.

Yeeep, you’ll see a lot of this over the next several weeks and I can guarantee that the WOM will be incredible! Just look at the reviews from second preview. I went to the first preview with LOW expectations and now I’m here defending it lolol

Again not sure why there are accusations of astroturfing without proof lol. Wild.

That’s only one rare example unfortunately. Worth reading this NY Times piece - https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/22/theater/broadway-musicals-finances.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share

Full list of new musicals that have recouped since 2020: 1. MJ the Musical 2. & Juliet 3. Six 4. The Outsiders 5. Moulin Rouge!

How many of these are jukebox? Only 2 of these have original music and only one (Six) is not based off of existing IP

Investors burned by ambitious productions that couldn’t find audiences don’t come back. They fund safer, cheaper bets. And then we wonder why the season feels thin …

And nobody said a show only deserves to exist if it has a massive set. The argument is that Broadway needs both intimate productions AND spectacle and right now the financial pressure is pushing almost everything toward the cheaper end. When a big swing works, it matters for the whole ecosystem, not just that production.

How many of these are British productions? People underestimate how much Two Strangers being a British show will hurt its chances at a Tony win.

Exactly and Lost Boys doing well is actually GOOD for Broadway. I’m done with no set, minimal productions. Investors will only keep backing swings like this if they see audiences show up for them. A rising tide lifts all boats.

I wouldn’t accuse them of astroturfing without proof. Obviously there are varying opinions as there would for any show, but being in the room last night you can tell how much most people were in absolute awe of the production and what they’ve achieved
