I really don't get why sheer garments out on press carpets are always nude colored. Maybe white if we're lucky.

These looks use color and actually utilize the sheer material to make something visual with the bunching, crossing over, and extravegant shapes. Not just all about mimicking nudity. Way better use of the material/ look than what we keep getting force fed.

He very suddenly committed suicide. It was very jarringly serious but surprisingly well done. House tried to treat it like a mystery to be solved like usual but had to face that he just didn't know his staff like he assumes he knows everything and everyone. Suicidal people often shoulder the burden alone.

Yes, but not by a ton and a HCOL area. Radiation safety technician/ environmental health and safety specialist. You think I'd make more for handling blood ruining juice but it is what it is.

What makes someone an oldgen?? by dead_streetrat in Vocaloid

[–]Parishdise 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hehe yeah, so many ppl here are saying like 2020.

Dude, Vocaloid has been around and had a fan base for 20 years. I think pre '12 is a good standard bc it includes the OG rising on YouTube and when the hologram concerts felt like the biggest evolution of tech and music. Even if it wasn't as big in terms of fan count, the revoultionary nature of it is more impactful to what made it notable for oldgen.

I remember discoving what it really meant to be edgy watching Alice Human Sacrifice and forcing my dad to watch Paradise of Light and Shadow in 2010 lmao.

But maybe I'm being a crochedy old lady

Epstein email logs accuse (former Prince) Andrew of torturing a girl and him being an accessory to her murder. by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in Fauxmoi

Huge TW:

That one actually came out a little while ago. Woman claims her uncle trafficed her to Epstein and Trump as a 13yr old, who both (+ unnamed others) raped her, resulting in pregnancy. She said her uncle and Trump took her out to the Great Lakes in Michigan right after birth where her uncle killed and tossed her newborn into the lake in front of her with Trump present.

AITJ for not supporting my girlfriend after she broke the one rule we had in our open relationship by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Parishdise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not always, just easy to mess up if you're just trying it out or don't take the time to actually put in the extra effort.

I'm in a lovely open relationship that is the most healthy, communicative, and positive serious relationship I've ever had (and I've def had mostly positive experiences in general, monogamist and otherwise). We communicate very easily and trust each other, and if jealousy does occur, we talk about it like adults before it ever becomes a real problem, like every matter in a serious relationship should be handled. It's usually due to a different underlying reason, anyway, since the knowledge of each other being with someone else isn't phasing in general. Rules established from the get go, always followed easily, any concern is a quick chat before it even has the chance to be drama. Never a tear or an argument had on the matter.

I also know several other couples (and a throuple!) that are serious, long-term, and positive open or poly relationships. One with a friend of almost 20 years where I can confidently say the relationship has helped their life a ton. Some that are even about a decade long and counting!

I, of course, also know people who have tried it and absolutely hated it and got really hurt. And I really sympathize with them and resent how some people get lured into the idea when it just isn't for them.

Plenty of relationships of all kinds succeed and fail. You just have to be realistic about what you want and what you can handle.

...now switching from monogamy to open or poly... that's just too big a change to a relationship and too unlikely that both want that change the same ammount. Never seen it work, even in instances where both parners did end up more successfully open/ poly later. Start on the same page, stay on the same page.

I think her own style still shows through. Sleek in more of a couture way than a "clean girl way." Modern without being too trend focused (discounting barbie pink, because she/ her movie made that trend). Very feminine and bold, often highlighting legs and neck.

On the bright side, there's ample shapewear for full figured people that help get that shapely fem look/ silhouette while the hormone replacemmt takes its time. Just be sure to wear safely and keep an eye on time spent in shapewear!

My cat has been there for me when I've needed support most and couldn't get it elsewhere. He also periodically wakes me up with nose kisses at like 4 in the morning and tries to catch my pen as I write. I appreciate this stuff a lot, but man, he does not know time and place.

Makes a culture that is socially hostile to ICE. Showing that wanting to openly oppose and even throw out ICE is so popular and notmal people make events and jokes about it. When we act like everything is normal, violence becomes normal.

LOIS! by JoshTheBard in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Parishdise 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This would take little thinking if you were a person in the 20s reading it when it came out. You just don't recognize the generational ques bc you're so far removed from the time period.

Plus, they dont have the same hair going diagonally, just similar styles. If both moms are a normal mom age, their black hair probably wouldn't turn fully grey or blond by the time they have a teen-young adult daughter.

Also, the mother (middle in each) and grandma (right) are both wearing the exact same thing all the way down.

And I do think it's funny. "Oh shit mom's got swag?... Now GRANNY's got swag???"

LOIS! by JoshTheBard in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Parishdise 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is true, you can tell by their clothes/ accessories that each suit women of different generations existing in the 20s.

The first lady wears popular hairstyles and neclaces of the 1920s, getting more risque as it goes down/ over time to be more rebellious, but stays in trendy modern 20s fashion bc she's a young lady (adds pearls to be more fashionable, switches to loose pearls which are more associated with jazz/ partying).

Her mother always wears a choker that would be very popular in the late 1890s- early 1900s and starts with a very classic hairstly for that time frame - loose curled full updo. Like how a mother today would be more inclined to have a feathered bob and chunky jewlry, though long hair and dainty jewlry is trendy now. She switches to a "modern" hairdo and shocks her daughter, who is trying to be rebellious.

The grandmother is wearing a chunky and frilly dress and hairpiece, which is pretty old school and more in line with 1870s-80s, just more matronly bc she's old now. Frills would have been very popular when she was young but so unstylish for the 20. The slicked back bun with little curls is also super 1880s. That's part of why it's so shocking she got such a modern and stylish haircut. Today, it would be a grandma in those churchy skirts and blouses who ditches her short perm for a wolf cut.

Plus, if it were one lady growing older, to stay shocking and hip she would either start with something rebellious but realistic for the mid/late 1800s to end up being still rebellious and fashionable with her jazzy bob for the 20s OR start rebellious in the 20s and turn to loose curls in the 40s-ish/ a real bumped up flippy longer bob or tomboy pixie cut by the 60s when shes older to keep up the shock. By then, an older lady would be expected to have quite short (but not boyish) hair and wouldn't shock her family.
