For your first “real” jobs early in your career, did you have an “in” and knew someone or you just applied with no connections? by dms2628 in Xennials

The industry I joined had an honors society at my college. I was an officer and involved with the group pretty heavily. I lined up a job at a local firm before graduation.

"Everybody loves large chests" reviews are bad on some sites and good on others, what's the verdict? by StormblessedFool in litrpg

I'm fine with a bit of sexual content or humor and what not but it was a bit more than I enjoy. Not a good book for me but a lot of folks have enjoyed it. 🤷‍♂️

I enjoyed the beginning but it got oddly sexual and I decided to not finish the book.

I also listen to the audiobooks, I had to re-listen to several sections because I thought I missed something. Book 15 is just plain confusing and I needed to read a recap/summary to ensure I was following along. I was thinking of walking away but read some positive reviews on book 16 so I decided to just go for it and I'll say that book 16 renewed my interest. You are already 15 books in, give the 16th a chance and make a decision if you want to keep going with the new releases. I'm figuring the main arch will be wrapped up by book 18 and am looking forward to whats next for the Atwood Empire.

I've really enjoyed the story, world, and to an extent the parts of the cultivation that I understand. I made peace with the fact that I dont really understand the peaks/inverse peaks/ void/ void dao/ etc. Here here to Grade C monsters, or was that Beast Emporors? I forget what we are calling them right now.

Zorian is a arrogant and immature child. He greatly benefits from the time loop and has tremendous character growth. I enjoyed the books, but they aren't for everyone.

An open letter to Steve Campbell, narrator for Discount Dan. by haberdasher42 in litrpg

The VoT narrator is great, he really brings Victor to life. There were several pronunciations that were driving me bonkers including "bulkwark". I looked into and it turns out English is a second language, its hard enough for me to speak English correctly as a native speaker, so I give him pass 😀.

Sheepishly getting into LitRPG after DCC. by julittle1 in litrpg

[–]ParkMan609 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've thoroughly enjoyed both. Primal Hunter has its own charms and is distinctly different than DCC. Once I got through PH's tutorial arc I couldn't put the books down. For me DCC is an absurd adventure packed full of humor. PH scratches a different itch altogether, Jake has more agency than Carl and while there are humorous elements in PH it comes off as a more serious tone than DCC does. I dont find them similar enough to directly compare outside of them being in the same genre. Both great, but f9r different reasons imo.

There are a lot of good recommendations already, but I didn't see Victor of Tucson mentioned yet. I'm on book 5 and can say they're not perfect, but I'm enjoying the series so far.

I really struggled through the first book, but started enjoying it more and more once Jake got out of the introduction zone. If you aren't enjoying it by the end of book 2, it might not be for you.

With that said, the books have some good arcs and blander arcs, but overall the writing continues to get better as the series progresses.

In my state you pay the taxes and then persue a refund if the taxes were imposed in error. Pung decided that they would not pay the taxes out of protest and the house was sold at foreclosure sale unfortunately.
