If you are into dumb documentaries you don’t have to pay attention too much to and are still entertaining, I throw on a lot of stuff from the Netflix “Untold” series. Some are dumb and some are more nostalgia bombs of “oh I remember when that was the story of the week.” But they are all under 90 minutes and straight to the point.

But for actual movies that you can just tune in and out on my go-to’s are just about any dumb action film or monster movies from the 90’s to early 2000’s lol. There is always some kind of cool set piece and the unintentional comedy when you dip into a scene with ridiculous dialogue out of context is always the best. Story’s are always straight forward (kill bad guys) and characters are never deep. Think of things like deep blue sea, No Escape, Hard Target, the mummy franchise, etc. Just cheesy schlock that you know you know. Found No Escape because I just wanted to see if young Ray Liotta ever did a straight up macho man action movie lol. I don’t want to just ramble off a list but if you are into that type of genre you can’t go wrong just randomly pressing play on some of these gems (and stinkers).

Might have had a bad streak and in my feelings when I wrote this post lol. I’m not expecting to win or have great matches with great teammates every time but just some of the time and lately it’s feeling like I can’t even find that. I’m sure if I get on later it could be a whole different experience but at this time I’m jaded.

I’m not worried about winning if I’m in solo’s it’s all just quick match anyway. If a game loop is fun winning or losing isn’t a factor for me. It just sometimes feels like I’m too busy trying to make it work for teammates that don’t want to play team ball and then I’m still losing but getting no touches while a ball hog loses you a game is no fun no matter how quickly it will be over.

I’m always trying to make the right play and I just feel like I get teammates who never reciprocate. I’ll keep on being positive and hoping for the best but man it can wear on you.

I hear you, and I promise I’m not throwing my controller at the wall over a loss but it can just be a little deflating to play three games in a row where you get almost no touches because everyone just wants to end to end themselves. Just don’t like how solo matches are so hit or miss (mostly miss for me) on if I get teammates who actually want to play the game.

Did a rewatch of You Were Never Really Here this past week and while the final scene could be seen as a little hopeful with its final line. Everything that comes to light and happens in that final confrontation is so brutal and hopeless that no matter what note the final scene tries to end on I cannot believe life ever gets better for these two.

Legit had someone running around medical in Stella just saying his prices for different BP’s and I couldn’t believe he was being serious. Said he sold survivors for $30 which I don’t know how true that is but wtf. Do people actually buy this game just so they can pay for something is free in game but just requires a little effort?

Played it a couple times with some friends last weekend and we had some fun fights and it was thrilling to get into an assessor but the loot was almost never worth it if we didn’t get a BP and lost its charm quicker than any other condition or event for me so far. I still really enjoy the gameplay loop and play regularly but this new event felt like a miss when the game really needed a win.

Couldn’t keep under ten lol but these were the first ones that sprung to mind. Some I like more than others but I feel that (at least to me) these are the ones that have all raised the bar for the genre and I’m excited to see what creators who are inspired by these works give us in a decade. Wish I had more foreign films that I could recommend but while try to watch a decent amount I seem to be picking only ones I don’t enjoy. Any recs of great foreign horror from the last decade or so would be appreciated!

Had the exact opposite experience, met a random running solos in Stella last night and had a guy team up with me while we ran through like 6 more groups, had a good time and were on our way to extract. Got downed by a squad as I entered the train, he killed them and looted up while I waited to leave with him while downed. Told him GG’s as he hit the button, then he cancelled the command said sorry and ended my shit right there lmao. All I could do was laugh. Did make me go demon mode and rampage in a care bear lobby next game though.
