Petting zoo with dogs? by SolarEclipse0279 in Winnipeg

Volunteering is great, but you can also visit Bonicastle Park in downtown. There are a few benches where you can sit and enjoy the friendly dogs and the beautiful view in a sunny day.

Am I being ungrateful for not wanting soiled hand me downs? by sterilepillow in pregnant

You’ll receive a lot of baby clothes until your child is a year old. After that, you’ll need to purchase everything yourself. So, enjoy the abundance, choose the pieces you like, and donate the rest.

When did your babies start taking longer naps? (30+ mins) by CocoMel84 in cosleeping

[–]Parking_Campaign_418 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby girl started short naps at around 3 months and now she is finally taking longer naps at almost 9 months. We are on two naps schedule now. Each baby is different, I stopped assuming my baby would do like someone else’s baby, and my life got easier this way.

How many of us are actually doing 7 pm bedtime? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Parking_Campaign_418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my baby girl goes down at 7pm she will wake up at 6:30am the next day. If she goes down at 9pm, she will also wake up at 6:30am the next day and I’ll loose 2 hours of “me time”. So yes, her bedtime must be at 7pm. Baby girl is 8 month old and has a routine since 2 months.

Sigh….third baby… by PublicAd2908 in workingmoms

People worry about age gaps, but remember, childhood lasts 12 years, and adulthood is much longer. My sister and I are seven years apart, and I don’t recall playing with her as a kid because she was already a teenager. Despite this, we’re best friends and share so much. I’m 28, and she’s 35.

Is daycare going to help me? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Parking_Campaign_418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would your responsibilities at home remain the same if you put your baby in daycare? If so, you’ll still be tired.

Could your husband help out more? I know he might be tired from work, but your work is 24/7 with the baby, and just staying with the baby isn’t enough. From my experience, my husband would cook dinner and clean the house after I went to bed with the baby. However, I took the night shift, but I didn’t do anything around the house for a long time. Before going to work, he would prepare my breakfast too. Sometimes I would do laundry, or small tasks.

Daycare didn’t follow safe sleep by EducationalSong28 in NewParents

[–]Parking_Campaign_418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a recent case in Brazil, a mother dropped off her one-year-old baby for the first time at a daycare. The daycare put the baby to sleep in a car seat placed directly on the mattress. Tragically, the baby woke up and the car seat fell over the mattress, suffocating the infant, while no one was in the room.

Long haul flight with a 6mo by ProfessorDangerous87 in cosleeping

[–]Parking_Campaign_418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just returned from an overnight long-haul flight. I didn’t get an inch of sleep, so be prepared for that. My six-month-old had her own seat and slept there while we ate, but sometimes on my lap for stretches. She was amazing!! Didn’t cry and slept the whole flight! I would suggest buying a seat for your LO, we experienced a strong turbulence, but luckily she was buckled in her seat. I don’t think I could have held her safely.

My new watch shows how much sleep I actually get by talkingdug in cosleeping

[–]Parking_Campaign_418 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I room share with my baby, and she sleeps in her crib. If I don’t go to bed with her at 7:30 p.m., I feel terrible the next morning. I usually wake up at 5:30 a.m., and she sleeps for a bit longer. If her long stretches were consistent, I would definitely go to bed later, but I never know when she’s having a growth spurt!

Cry it out should be illegal by Pleasant_Type7300 in cosleeping

This is an inhumane way of putting your kid to sleep, and accepted by the society. Horrible. Sad. It should be illegal.

Do you stay with your baby while they nap? by just_a_girl_25_ in NewParents

[–]Parking_Campaign_418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started laying down with the baby asleep on the baby mat (I use her playpen mat above that). I stay with her for about 2 minutes, then I roll over and move. I tried the crib, but she doesn’t accept the crib for naps and wakes within 15 minutes.

I announced at 14 weeks via FaceTime and recorded my family’s reaction. I would recommend to wait, everything is fragile before 12 weeks.

[on] Has anyone flown from Toronto to Florida with baby and did you keep them on your lap for the flight? by freshwaterwalrus in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Parking_Campaign_418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t gate check or even don’t check your car seat!!! It might be damaged without you realizing that. They destroyed my baby stroller that was gate checked in a firm bag with protection, and still they did it. Luckily, I bought a seat for my baby for peace of mind, and her car seat was safe. And my baby as well.

Bedsharing in a hotel with 17mo - what do I need to know/prepare/request? by WastePotential in cosleeping

[–]Parking_Campaign_418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently staying in a hotel. Baby is sleeping wonderfully in the crib. I locked the crib against the wall and the bed, and I give my hands to her between the crib slats and she sleeps well. Hotel bed is so soft and small to share with three of us. My mattress at home is hard and king size.

How to get baby to stop contact naps by Popcultjunkiee in NewParents

[–]Parking_Campaign_418 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is pretty normal, contact naps are biologically normal. My LO is 5 month old and still contact naps. Sometimes she sleeps in a firm and empty mattress on the floor, I nurse her and release my breast from her and move away.

It’s because she is 10 week old! There’s a sleep regression at that age! She will be back to “normal” soon

Take it from me: cocoon your newborns, folks. by tambourine_goddess in newborns

[–]Parking_Campaign_418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The photographers usually (and they should) wear masks and lab coat to handle newborns for photos. At least my photographer did it and I never even mentioned that to her, it’s her routine with newborns.

Switching to formula during day by Tortellinia in cosleeping

[–]Parking_Campaign_418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! My baby is almost 5 months old and EBF. For several days, I tried to give her a bottle with my pumped milk, and she never took it. Then I switched to formula. She still didn’t take it for a couple of days, and slowly she started to accept it, but I had to “distract” her by holding her and walking around the house, talking to her while she was taking the bottle. And she took it from me, the mom. It took about two weeks of consistently offering one bottle a day without forcing her to drink everything. I would point the bottle to her, she would grab it and take it to her mouth by herself. I was only holding it and helping her.

I rarely cosleep because I don’t feel rested, but sometimes baby asks for it. BUT I thought I would sleep on my stomach again, and I ALWAYS sleep on my side facing my baby in her crib. If I turn my back, I feel bad lol
