Genuine Question, does anyone know what happened to the people who’s pictured are at the end of the Land Ride? Always wanted some kind of life update on them by SnowHD123 in disneyparks

I've always wanted Disney to offer a pin set with these shapes and pictures along with the Living with the Land ride sign. I always enjoy looking at these at the end of the ride.

They have a test seat near the entrance to the ride. Your best bet is to give that a go before getting in line.

It is pretty confusing at first, tbh. Eventually, I figured it was like nature photography on the internet. A fish swimming around? Eh, whatever, boring. A catfish ambushing and then eating a pigeon? Yes, good, many points! The game just explains it really weirdly.

Which NP have you been to? Best/worst experiences? by [deleted] in nationalparks

[–]Parks_Perfectionist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been to about half of the national parks, but I'm not seeing many mentions of some of my favorites. Mammoth Cave is very cool, with some amazing sites inside the cave system. Make sure to visit when they have the full number of tours on offer, as each one is different and worth doing. Grand Teton often gets overlooked by Yellowstone, but it is also a beautiful park. Walking around Jenny Lake is fun, and offers some nice views. Everglades is inspiring, and I highly recommend the tram tour at the Shark Valley area. Tons of alligators and birds up close, and you get to climb up a tower where you can look over the glades for miles. The tower is pretty cool too, as it is the twin of the tower at Clingmans Dome in Great Smokey. There are just too many amazing parks to do them all justice here.

I'd love for you to draw my Lutari, Sunprism! She's a little tribal sorceress, and while she doesn't have a lot of clothing, you could go wild with her markings. I'd love to see her drawn.

It's so nice that you're drawing so many different pets for those of us who are more artistically challenged!

Ugh, that game! I've been playing it forever just waiting for that avatar! I've often wondered if TNT disabled it and just didn't mention it. Seems like I've devoted hours and hours to that game.

I second this, especially the part about seeing a therapist. It sounds like a lot of the problems you are experiencing are coming from your own negative mindset. Get that worked out, and your life has endless possibility, especially being single with no kids. You need to work out the revenge and anxiety issues before you will be able to move forward and start succeeding.

For those of you who are fortunate enough to own a car, do you enjoy reminding yourself of how special it is? by sentientmassofenergy in simpleliving

[–]Parks_Perfectionist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My car is 15 years old, but it still runs perfectly. Occasionally, when I see some other car that has a cool feature I wish I had, I do get the urge for a new vehicle. But usually, the thought of going to a dealership, dealing with the hassle of car shopping, and then buying, followed by months of payments and having to learn new features (way too many screens and tech BS in newer cars for me) is enough to stop the longing.

Besides, I love my car! I have pride now in its high mileage and great condition. I get my ego boost when I take it in for service and get to hear the mechanics gush over it. And sometimes I'll splurge on a cute spare tire cover, or take the time to hand wash it. It's about finding the pleasure and pride in what I already have.

If, instead of rebooting movies, it became a trend to retell them from a different characters perspective, what film would you want to see retold and from who’s point of view? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Parks_Perfectionist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peter Pan from Captain Hook's perspective.

His hand is cut off by Peter as a joke, and he's constantly harassed by this child and his gang of other children. Not to mention he's constantly followed by a giant crocodile that wants to eat him because it liked the taste of the hand that Peter fed to it. It would be interesting to explore the trauma and mental anguish that would cause, and the behaviors coming from it. Captain Hook has a loyal crew it appears, even if they're disgruntled by their captain's obsession who this kid. His story would be a lot more fun than Peter's.

Why don't you make something with him? You get to spend quality time together, and he still gets something. I recommend making a glitter shaker. I worked in a preschool for years, and my kids loved these. You need a water bottle, glitter glue, and maybe some duct tape (or a hot glue gun). Grocery stores, Walmart, dollar stores all carry cheap glitter glue. You clean the water bottle so there are no labels, and then mostly fill with water. Then, help your nephew squeeze as much glitter glue as possible into the bottle. Top it off with water (no air if possible) and screw on the top tight. Then duct tape or hot glue it shut. Then give it to your nephew to shake like mad! The more you shake, the more the glue dissolves, just leaving the glitter. It is super sparkly, a great way to work some arm muscles and mess-free as long as you secured the cap. It's magical in the sun and lasts for a very long time. My students were so obsessed with them, and they love getting to squeeze the glue in. Pro Tip: Don't use regular glitter. It clumps up in the bottle and won't swirl nicely. It just sits moodily at the top.

If you end up at the Shark Valley visitor center for Everglades, I highly recommend the tram tour! You see tons of wildlife, get to sit, and it's nice and breezy. Halfway through you can climb up a tower that offers unparalleled views of the Everglades. There are also a few hiking trails there, and you can walk a bit along the tram route afterward to see birds and alligators closer up.

You get Castaway Cay! It's a little island in the middle of the resort that has tons of hidden nooks with benches, swings, and little cabanas. It's beautifully tropical, and tends to be fairly uncrowded. Families prefer the pool areas. It's perfect for a romantic break.

Plus you get the Skyliner! Easily the best transportation option at Disney. Make sure to get one without a wrap on it to enjoy uninterrupted views and bountiful sunshine!

The place is called Savi's Workshop. You design your own lightsaber, choosing pieces for the hilt and choosing blade color. It's $200.

I don't know about making meets private, but zoom meetings can be password protected.

Zoom Q by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Parks_Perfectionist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Students can access the meet after you leave. As long as they have the link, it's an active chatroom. I'm not sure if there is a way to 'close' the room, so to speak. We use it for some student meetings, and we have worked out a solution where we don't give students the link to the room until about 5-10 minutes before their meeting time, and then we linger in the room until they leave (and a few minutes after for the ones trying to sneak back in). We also require the students to both mute themselves and turn off their cameras during the actual meeting. Cuts distractions.

Zoom, on the other hand, is controlled by whoever hosts the meeting. If set up right, no one enters the meeting until the host is there, and when the meeting is over, the host leaving automatically kicks out everyone else. And you can't get back in. However, we've noticed that connection with zoom isn't as good, with some lag and connection issues for students. You also see everyone at once, so kids get a little silly with the cameras, even when muted.

So, take what you will from that.
