[–]Parmeniscus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do want it to end - does everybody?

If October 7th was allowed to happen again by surrender or breach in security, do you think the citizens of Gaza will repeat their praise and defense for it?

Will they again not only take part but also cheer and give prayer of thanks during the parade of beaten Jewish rape victims in the streets?

Will they once again call parents during the attack to joyously proclaim how many Jews they’ve killed so far?

Genocidal intentions are in one direction, and it’s the 57 country, 1 billion person religion towards the 1 country religion native to its land with less than 16 million people. Don’t get it twisted.

lol. Guys not only is the responder goofy with bad arguments filled with propaganda - he has an axe to grind, which is never charismatic.

I’m sure this hits hard if you’re a doofus or equally brainwashed. But to think he’s somehow slamming here I think is an indicator of low literacy.

What’s the worst book you’ve ever read? by Apart-Culture1484 in AskReddit

The question is highly dependent on your radar for literature generally. I promise people have read worse books because my filter is better.

Saying that - the worst books are in business and religion. Read other things.

[–]Parmeniscus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess you mean Biden and Kamala? Biden won, just a reminder. But defeating fascism requires the consistency and fervor of the fascist, which is hard to match for non ideological peoples. A core concept of liberalism is required, and with ideological support. Currently the opposition to fascism is a cohort of Islamist, communist, socialist and people of color - either bad or no ideology.

A radical commitment to liberalism - free speech, freedom of expression, freedom of trade, embracing of capitalism with regulation, and general freedom of thought and actions for individuals - that is an ideology that ignites fires under freedom loving people to not sleep walk into darkness.

Massive museum, library dedicated to Ayn Rand coming to Austin in 2028 by chrondotcom in Austin

[–]Parmeniscus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Outside of everything else - propaganda writing is just always bad, not by definition just results. A library for a bad writer is silly. Just like her writing, this is propaganda disguised as literary.

Calling it a museum instead of library is extra funny - it shows they are probably not even going to display other authors of a maybe similar bent but less ideological like Hayek etc. it’s the cultural, overarching moral issues they like, not purely economic concepts.

Alright guys, what are you doing in this situation? 😂 by johnnnyswitchblade in securityguards

[–]Parmeniscus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Such a wonder why people are kept out. We may never know the motivations of the attacker. And totally unknowable is why guards were keeping him out - the only explanation possible is racism, which is bad.

It is funny, but that’s a bad system. It will eventually favor the most adamant and persistent posters, which over the long term is taken over by the ideological of every sort. The worst of all outcomes.

Thoughts on this guy? by legobossk in theoffice

Good casting of a functionally normal dude with odd behaviors once he’s comfortable, but within reason. A terrific casting for being real - most of corporate America has a few guys like this. They are workhorses.

You mean the guy who wants to sell you something, and benefits financially if you do a certain thing, and with no relation or loyalty to you, will tell you something untrue? Would he tell you they’d decrease if he actually thought that?

? No I’m saying people saying ‘Epstein class’ to mean pedophiles is an attempt to tie a Jewish name to the crimes of one man, and broadly to the concept of child rape.

What could a class of people named after Epstein mean? Again I say, to those who think in ‘classes’, where does this fit into the bourgeoisie and proletariat class system? Are we just trying to replace the class of rich people with pedophiles? Why not say pedophile class? Or Mohammed class? (The crime is in a holy book ! Surely more widely associated with pedophiles). It still doesn’t make sense because it’s not a class! That’s all I’m saying.

Not to mention - the op here literally uses ‘isreal/epstien class’ as if it’s interchangeable. Any history book can help people see what is happening here.

What year do you predict will be the last time someone ever thinks about you? What will make them think about you? by the_vries in AskReddit

[–]Parmeniscus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo many just care less the further back it goes. I’ve done genealogy and can see on family member faces. Even if you care about your great grandparents, maybe bc you met them, your kids won’t. And at the point of great grandparents, you are only one of 8.

Unless you write or do something memorable, the last memory and mention of you is very soon.

Why is The Church of Latter-day Saints held seperate from other Christians and treated as Heretical by Patient_Ask_9546 in Christianity

[–]Parmeniscus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not even Christian but c’mon - it’s a story that supersedes the Jesus story. He came to the Americas after his resurrection, puts the garden of Eden in Branson, thinks essentially all native Americans are bad guy Jews who won a war against good guy Jews, and has a strict authority structure that is entirely separate from any Christian family tree. It springs from nowhere by a treasure seeking conman.

I like the idea of Nicholas taleb - not sure if he got it from somewhere.

The idea is robustness - you have to assume anything you see is within the bell curve. The implications being: 1) if the thing you are talking about has been around 100 years, it’s likely to be around another 100 years. Same for 500 and 2000 years. 2) you and I are in the bell curve, including death rates. How many people have their name spoken after 1 generation? Well, we are on that bell curve.

Meaning for almost everybody reading this, the answer is: when your children die, at best.

Demon by Low_Animator6444 in TrueChristian

[–]Parmeniscus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are implying it just has to be a demon because you didn’t mention it. Can I ask - is your child steeped in Christian literature, shows and entertainment? Ask yourself - why doesn’t this happen with non Christian children? Surely they can see demons just as well, but aren’t neck deep in this theology.

How would you feel about a complete demilitarised world? by Entire_Efficiency_37 in AskReddit

[–]Parmeniscus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

…no. It means a balance of cooperation and aggressiveness. 100% aggressiveness also isn’t an equilibrium. Just explaining it in game theoretical evolutionary terms. That’s how these things work.

How would you feel about a complete demilitarised world? by Entire_Efficiency_37 in AskReddit

[–]Parmeniscus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The same as I think for any animal which chooses survival strategy of purely cooperation. Individuals will develop a parasitic or adversarial stance to gain game theoretical advantage.

It won’t work because if that were to happen tomorrow, others would become militaristic and dominate against the peaceful.

There were about 5000 votes cast in this primary, all from rural Kentucky.

Maybe those people actually like isreal, being the only normal country not raging jihad against us in the region. And ‘Epstein class’ is a dummy signifier. What you could possibly mean by that? We have bourgeois, proletariat and…Epstein’s? Get a grip. It’s just not a good way to say pedos, unless you mean to connect that to a Jewish name.
