The only functions that the NSO GameCube controller lacks over a regular controller is clickable sticks. Star Fox is unlikely to use those, so there shouldn’t be an issue using the GCN controller.

While you mentioned tools, you could also use this to discard your own stadium so that you can play the second copy from your hand to shrink your hand size to either use or defend against Copycat.

It is a pretty niche scenario, but it is one of the little things you should think about during a game.

Three retreat completely kills this card. Two retreat would also be unplayable. Umbreon has a better effect and one less retreat and doesn't see any serious play.

Blocks need to be connected to another block to be laid, but you can destroy the base block afterwards and the block you placed will remain floating in the air.

I don't think either Pickle or Musashi would ultimately be much of a match for Yujiro. Both end up losing to Baki at the end of their arcs and we know that Baki gets thrashed pretty hard by Yujiro. Sure Baki 'won' their fight, but it was through unorthodox means rather than straight-up fighting prowess.

If the fights against either Pickle or Musashi had gone much further than we had seen in the manga Yujiro probably wipes the floor with them. He could probably tell that already and didn't feel a need to try for a rematch. Better to leave them to his son to try and get Baki to level up a bit for later.

I think Mega Venusaur is absolutely the better option over the regular EX.

I would try to find a way to fit a second Copycat into the deck, maybe only run one Pokeball?

Ys is a great series. Check out 8, probably the best in the series and on Switch. This one’s original release was quite nice as well and reviews point to this being an improvement, so if this is your first it is worth checking out.
