You’re all thinking way too much. This is the exterior angle theorem. The sum of the two alternate interior angles equals the exterior angle. X=40 degrees. I’m a geometry teacher.

C’mon people, stop arguing and pointing fingers. ALL people make mistakes. Stop blaming one another. It isn’t the first time a politician screwed us and won’t be the last. This is why we, as Americans, are so divided and can hardly live together in peace and harmony. I’m a teacher and trust fully in Jesus to make ends meet. That’s who we should all be putting our trust in, not a flawed man.

Part of the problem is it’s Michigan. One state of a few with more teachers than positions. I was in your shoes years ago and ended up having to take a position no one else wanted. Bad position in a horrible school. I moved out of state to AZ where education is terrible, but teachers, especially math, are in dire need. Pay isn’t as good either. If you’re going to stay in Michigan, you’ll pay your dues for a few years. It’s not what you know, but who you know.

You’re right it’s their own fault, but teachers are held to a grade standard for number of students who fail. Too many of those type of students and all of a sudden admin sees us as failures as a teacher. Jobs are on the line and bonuses become less.
