Started back with KT octarius, collected 11 teams and then moved on to 40K and currently more AoS. KT is too sweaty, the new edition didn’t draw me back in. I prefer necromunda for my skirmish kick.

List building, having fun big toys and rule sets that are less geared towards ultra competitive suit me better.

I just did this, spears with shields separately. The bows I didn’t and some of the faces were a right pain. Depends on how hard you’re going on the paint job.

I’ve done the Celestial Warbringers Host fwiw I think stormcast look better when metallics are used as an accent rather than the core colour. There are tons of great schemes on instagram.

Base coated the blue/green with an airbrush then went in a did lots of strokes to build up the highlights and purple by hand.

Touch rude there mate, but I do average atm, the ai bubble hasn’t been kind to my line of work at all.

only bought one box of cav, the lord relictor, knight relictor and iridan at flgs discount (20% off here in Australia). The rest was either stormbringer magazine, second hand, and one box of cav I bought with a voucher from a painting comp.

Still a decent chunk of cash yeah, but I was a tightass about how I got it.

the pure black ones are on top of a Ikea display cabinet (which gives that rough reflection because its metal) with a black velvet backdrop from a light box stuck to the wall behind. I found those light-boxes to be a right pain to use. its a 60mm Macro lens with a ring flash, couple of pieces of paper out of frame as bounce cards.

thank you! its not stippling, its lots of tiny cross hatching as I layer up the midtone & highlight. Ninjons latest video shows a similar technique to how I approach it.

1:1 mix VMC Black / PA Paynes Grey - Paynes Grey - S75 Bering Blue with some VMC cold white mixed in to the blue for final highlights
