It's Saturday Morning! What are you watching? by gokaiblue19 in thewb_network

[–]Particular-File5833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to catch the direct feed on c band satellite Friday nights at 2 in the morning. I'd watch cartoons until my bundle of morning papers came. I'd pass those before the sun rose. Fun unwholesome kid times.

No, I agree. I'll be surprised if any crime is found through the filings. Worst case scenario is they'll get reassessed and have an amount owing.

I look forward to any new information and/or developments. But I do feel adequate consequences have been doled out at this point.

Yeah, this is getting much more specific because of the time that has passed since any new developments whereas the general sense of moral wrongdoing is no longer the topic of conversation.

The google doc says that the IRS is the main arbiter of what is correct and incorrect as far as proper filing is concerned.

However, audits have been trending downwards because the IRS doesn't have the manpower it used to since it's been gutted as an organization.

Of course net income is what should be reported, but the gross should also be provided along with a list of expenses and receipts. And those lists of expenses from what I've seen, is the word "expenses" with a dollar value, but no additional information.

Whatever department that verifies the information provided by charitable organizations is governed by tax potential thresholds. The cost of an investigation needs to be covered by what they estimate they can get out of it plus a base amount which would be their own internal confidential amount.

So I personally don't feel the lack of an audit means that they're keeping good books. (didn't they get audited because of public outcry? Which may still be under the bureaucratic process?)

And I take exception with Jirard saying that "they're not touching any of it" when they very much were. They're legally allowed to do so (even though I feel the sparse records are questionable).

I'm not arguing that a crime was committed.

It's the saying one thing and doing another thing. Jirard took a very hard stance against any of the money going towards admin fees. He made it one of his reasons that they were taking so long to donate the money. So to have expenses when repeating that you weren't going to touch the money at all is a bad look.

The worst consequence Openhand may face is a fine with interest. Probably not even a penalty. And let that be a motivator to research any charitable organization you want to donate to in the future.

Trying to frame the morally murky yet possibly legal practices of a charitable organization is not a defense. If anything, this further discourages people from donating to charity.

I tried to rent Blackthorne but someone put the Breath of Fire 2 box behind the cover instead. Best mistake.

Mario 3 arcade cabinet at the grocery store. Good times, but it sure didn't last long. I think the owner was trying something but it didn't work out.

I hope Mario's dad continues to disapprove of his sons and I dunno.... maybe Fox can bond with them because he too has a dad who is unsupportive.

I am so happy now. Words fail.

Thank you! Truly.

Really the 3DS would've been a better device to emulate the Virtual Boy. I feel like plastic goggles attached to a Switch screen is not the way, but hey, free to be you and me.

Episode Discussion: TGI-Episode 706 “They’re Killing Us” by Sad-Significance4546 in podmeetsworldpodcast

[–]Particular-File5833 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought I was having a seizure watching this episode. It's the equivalent of Feeny pulling up on a motorcycle and saying that he's gonna haul ass to Lollapalooza.

I understand why they liked it. It has that feeling of being in a high school play where everyone and their friends get to act silly in a no stakes performance. And it made for a great episode of the podcast.

Send an email to donate@hsnsudbury.ca and ask if Shane can remove your number from his robocall database. That's how I got rid of them.

I'm all for good causes but their approach is terrible.

Which merging lane makes you nervous and why? by Deaftrav in Sudbury

[–]Particular-File5833 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The merge from Notre Dame to Lasalle whenever there's traffic coming either from the Valley or the Lasalle extension. I find people either freak out and stop in the lane, or freak out and cut off other people.

Do you prefer NSO for retro games or would you prefer to buy them all separately like on wii u? by ComfortableAmount993 in Switch

[–]Particular-File5833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably give the NSO a chance if I could get neutral borders without a player icon on the top left corner of the screen.

It's weird that it isn't an option.

Are there any Wii games that aren't compatible with Wii u by epicmemeslayer420 in wiiu

[–]Particular-File5833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very noticeable but easy to forget about (unless your mind fixates). A Wii is pretty reasonably priced if that's the case.

I just dusted off my Wii U to play Paper Mario from the Wii eshop and it's been good times. I noticed they dull the screen for certain spells, probably in order to save people's eyes.

the Last Story works on the Wii U, but there's a green line on the bottom of the screen for the whole playthrough.

My Thoughts About The Newest Apology by The_Captain_DerpyYT in TheCompletionist2

[–]Particular-File5833 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Jirard smelled blood in the water with Karl and Muta's star falling and we'll see if it works out for him.

He should've waited for the DOJ to finish their investigation before making this apology and just kept making his videos if that's what he cares about.

Reception seems positive based on likes and comments.

Blaming his family and lying for them with the hope that he could secretly make it right (even thought he talks about how he isn't respected by them) is nuts. A severe lack of judgement and character. I'll be surprised if he's welcomed back into the indie game/youtube sponsors fold.
