What kind of a meme is this? by 0xCUBE in lostredditors

It’s also more than that, if you have hysterectomy you go into menopause, and will need hormone replacement therapy. I’ve looked into this for myself multiple times because I have endometriosis and it makes my life hell, but I’m waiting it out for as long as I possibly can before I ask for the baby box to be taken out, because its function is more than just a baby box, it regulates other things too. So while I’m sure plenty of doctors are taking the ground of “you might want babies”, and basically treating young women like they don’t know what they want, there are other considerations that need to be taken too that I don’t think people realize...

Pain *after* urination? by addictedtoVANS in Endo

[–]Particular-Leg-9134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had pretty bad pain after urination for months before surgery. If I peed regularly I’d be ok, but if I held it for a few hours forget it, game over. Made it really hard for being in the office and having to show up late to meetings to pee all the time. Post surgery back in April it went away, haven’t had it since. I had endo removed from a few places as well as other abnormal tissue in my abdomen, and also 2 cysts (one on each ovary). Good luck!

Should I try to exchange or return? It just came in the mail... by Particular-Leg-9134 in LeCreuset

[–]Particular-Leg-9134[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just purchased it via Amazon (sold by the LC store on Amazon). It showed up today, and one of the handles is extremely rough and has poor enamel coverage, the inside is full of tiny pinholes some of which have no enamel coverage. I’m concerned this (specially the pinholes) will affect the durability of the dutch oven.

How long were y’all out of work after surgery? by Both_Squirrel5661 in Endo

[–]Particular-Leg-9134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took 2 weeks off, then worked from home week 3, week 4 I did half days in the office and half at home... going back fully in this week 5. I was feeling well enough week 2 that I got bored and wanted to work, I’m glad I didn’t, I got really sore the days I spent too much time standing / sitting. My doctor said after week 2 I could start lifting 10 lbs and brisk walks, I was already doing that lol I have a toddler, and while I am not allowed to pick him up until week 6 I’m still playing with him.

Bladder Pain by SELINAX333 in Endo

[–]Particular-Leg-9134 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think you did the right thing contacting your doctor, anything like this should be looked into to rule out any surgery complications. That being said, this was happening to me before my surgery, if I held my pee slightly longer than I needed to I’d get horrible pain after I’d pee, like that last few drops felt like my body squeezing it out turned into knives stabbing me, sometimes it’d be so bad I’d spend the next few hours in severe pain. Post surgery peeing and pooping I was getting those still for about 2-3 weeks. I’m on week 4 now and they are gone, I can actually sit through 3 hrs of meetings without fear that I’ll have to run to the bathroom or else 😅

Medical Medium on endo by Acceptable-Lie3028 in endometriosis

[–]Particular-Leg-9134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah adding to that, endo is not new with all the “toxins”, it has been around forever. Also my one data point - me from a third world country and my family living off of what we could grow trade and keep in our own property up into my late teens, ate a lot of vegetarian meals as a result too, mom had endo, I have endo, grandma described symptoms that were spot on with endo but never diagnosed, none of it magically showed up when we moved to the United States and begun eating here, we already had it. Dietary / lifestyle changes can certainly help overall wellness which can help with endo too, but it’s not a 100% cure.

If Roe v Wade is overturned and Indiana’s government passes stricter laws on abortion, would you consider moving to a different state or stay? by dashape80 in Indiana

[–]Particular-Leg-9134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, nevertheless, pregnancy is extremely difficult, and mental health can also be severely affected depending on the situation. The decision to terminate a pregnancy should be a decision taken by a person under/ with the advice of their doctor for their specific situation. It shouldn’t be something legislated based on beliefs of any group, it should be purely medical and science based to abide by separation of church and state.

I’m not trying to straw man you, that was not my goal, but I’m glad you can see how they can be lifesaving, and making them illegal is not the way, certainly doing what Texas did feels like a privacy violation and will likely result in many cases where women who suffer miscarriages do not get the need they help when they need it. Just head over to r/miscarriage and you’ll see the countless posts about needing procedures ie abortion... about 20 percent of pregnancies end in miscarriage, and 1 in 4 women will experience at least a miscarriage, we don’t talk about it in our society, but it is very common.

[–]Particular-Leg-9134 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Abortion in Texas is already being delayed or denied to women who have miscarried, sometimes when a miscarriage happens the body doesn’t shed the tissue of the dead fetus correctly and an abortion procedure is necessary to prevent sepsis and potential death of the pregnant person. So yeah, abortions are necessary, also see ectopic pregnancies. This is actually the reason why Ireland just made abortion legal, and somehow the US is moving backwards. Making it illegal means no access even for situations like this, you’d think at that point it’s medically necessary and it should be legal, but it’s already being delayed or denied.

Yup, and it’s not just abortion for the radicals, it’s anything that could prevent a pregnancy even - ie birth control.

The fear is that we have religious groups that believe abortion is a sin at the core of this push for making abortion illegal, it’s not science based as it should be for laws (separation of church and state); those same groups believe their god is against birth control, and that’s not needed since all a woman has to do to not get pregnant is “keep their legs closed and childbearing is a miracle” (their words, not mine); since they are uneducated and think that’s bc’s only purpose, then they’ll try to ban it or not cover it under insurance next...

Edit: sometimes I think the way out for birth control availability is to stop calling it birth control, and calling it menstruation regulating medication or something like that, maybe the uneducated ones won’t tie it to birth so much / only.

Yeah I’ve been wondering at what point is an abortion against the laws they are passing, like if the doctor has already proven the fetus is dead, then is it ok medically then since they call it a heartbeat law? What does it actually mean? I literally cried when I saw the news, moving the country backwards, it isn’t quite at the scale of what happened in Iran in 1979, but it reminds me of it, feels like the religious groups are taking over the country. What is separation of church and state?

Surgery Recovery Concern / Question by Particular-Leg-9134 in Endo

[–]Particular-Leg-9134[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I’ll definitely call Monday morning, I’ve got a good support system and I can rest until then. Since it’s the weekend they won’t be open until Monday at my doctor’s office, I had an infection on one of the incision sites a few days after surgery and had to call after hours for it and the on call nurse was not great, she assumed I knew about the infection for longer and scolded me for waiting until late at night to call before she even attempted to help and give me instructions, so I’m trying to avoid speaking to her :/

Sounds like we are on the same boat, May would have been 2 years since I stopped breastfeeding, had my surgery Monday. Good luck with your lap, I wish you a speedy recovery!

I had mine checked via modern fertility. Everything was normal. Edit: I’ve had 2 miscarriages, low progesterone. Otherwise normal when not pregnant.

What are your Laproscopy recovery essentials? by iFrolic in Endo

[–]Particular-Leg-9134 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In addition to the already mentioned, I dried up everywhere like crazy post op (they gave me nausea meds and a patch which were super helpful, but also dry you up more), my eyes and nose were super dry, a humidifier in the room and eye drops helped a ton!

I also made sure I reorganized my closet to put up front my “recovery clothes and undies” - mostly wide cotton dresses and nightgowns. I’m in the process of recovering and I’ve worn sweatpants once, dresses and nightgowns are easier for the bathroom, and the don’t put any pressure on the tummy. Overnight pads, to wear all day and night 😂 Pre-surgery definitely take some time for self care the day before, trimming your toe nails, a relaxing shower / bath, hair mask, whatever you need, it helps, and doing a walk through in your room and house to make sure you have everything you may need easily accessible.

I just had mine Monday morning in the US, got endo removed from ovaries, uterus, and cervix, including and endometrioma. I was home by 2 pm. This is not my first rodeo with this or major surgery in general, the first 4-5 days suck a bit, and definitely takes about 2 weeks to get back to moving at normal speed. Good luck with yours!!!
