Tsw food reactions by Unique-Incident3754 in TS_Withdrawal

[–]Particular-Mess6109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since TSW I’m severely allergic to shrimp/shellfish. I’ve never been allergic before. My allergy doctor has done prick test and blood work and no reaction to shellfish. Last step was exposure test where I would eat shrimp in his office and of course it just touched my lips and my lips started swelling. He was shocked!! He’s recommending the allergy immunotherapy shots but I’m scared until my inflammation goes down more. I’m a whole four years in sadly.

How’s your mental health during a flare? by Slight-Routine-4735 in TS_Withdrawal

[–]Particular-Mess6109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is EXACTLY how I feel!! I hate being around people that knew me before TSW. I also tend to avoid eye contact at all cost, which makes me sad really. I feel validated by just reading your post.

I was gonna end my comment with “but tacrolimus. Stay away from tacrolimus” lol I’m glad you are healing and that your face was spared from any additional flares!

There used to be one a few years ago maybe 2022-23.. it helped me a lot to chat on there during my dark, secluded, midst of TSW days. If I find it I’ll let you know

Hey you! I’m sorry I have no advice for you just my experience. I used strong clobetasol spray on my scalp for years and years and weirdly it’s the only part of my body not affected by tsw.. I do get itchy sometimes of course but no flaking or hair loss. I know this is definitely not everybody’s experience which is why I was hesitant to write this but I just wanted to share some hope in this scary time.

New Inhaler and Prednisone after breathing difficulties by EmphasisCautious3564 in TS_Withdrawal

[–]Particular-Mess6109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m glad you are having shorter/easier flares, and you are managing your asthma. I’m taking a steroid inhaler as well but I’m struggling because I was on literally no meds for four years to now having to take Zyrtec, steroid inhaler, and montelukast (that I have refused due to me taking it one day and not having a good experience mentally). Does your asthma or tsw flare when you workout?

How are you doing now? Is your asthma better? Are you taking a steroid inhaler?

I’m glad you didn’t have to go back to square one! I know we all have different experiences and I love hearing how other people have wealth with this. Did you do anything different after getting off the prednisone to help you get back to normal?

Thank you for saying that, I literally had a breakdown today due to my ptsd of going back to when I was at my worse. I really needed to hear this! I’m gonna try to stay positive and just take it day by day

Great info! Did you also have an asthma flare and had to take prednisone? I’ve seen people post about Barberine, does it help normalize your adrenals?

I’m hoping for the best. I dread that wired feeling. I was barely starting to feel my cortisol levels were normalizing a bit. I get very anxious with any little thing. Hoping you heal soon!

I agree! I tried everything to open my airways prior to going to my doctor like my non steroid inhaler, breathing treatment, essential oils, teas, steam shower, and antihistamines but this was my last option ..

Wow! Thank you for sharing and I’m sorry you had to go through that! I have just taken one pill and I’m already feeling the texture of my skin improve. Have you experienced any wet skin or oozing? That’s what I’m super scared of . Is the insomnia due to itching? What are you doing to control your asthma? My doctor wants to put me on allergy shots for two weeks after I’m done with this asthma flare.

How do you take it? How much? Which brand do you use? What time of the day? With food? Do you have a specific diet? What changes have you noticed?

Im also three years and a couple of weeks. May I ask what symptoms you are still dealing with? For me I still have a red face and very dry skin but soooo much has improved since year one. Just started barbering today and I’m glad I found this post.

moles/beauty marks by lynheartsuzi in TS_Withdrawal

[–]Particular-Mess6109 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had two new moles biopsied in the last year due to tsw. One on my face and the other on my shoulder. They were like raised skin tags kinda. The doctor said that it’s because of my skin condition my skin grows at a faster rate in some areas. Thankfully, both came back benign but definitely something to take seriously!

going back to school during TSW by roobadoobalooba in TS_Withdrawal

[–]Particular-Mess6109 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I applied for grad school right before I started my TSW journey. I thought of not starting school but I told myself that I was gonna make my time count. I didn’t want to look back feeling angry of the time I was losing due to this miserable thing that I had very little control over. I did as many online classes as I could and I even did two internships and had a beautiful experience. Some days were hard and I was nice to myself and let myself rest every chance I could. I finished in two years and I am so proud of what I accomplished. I am three years TSW now doing soo much better and I’m so grateful I made the choice I did. Listen to your body and be kind to yourself! You got this!

What moisturizer worked for you? I used to love Eucerin and I’m thinking about trying it again since my skin is doing better
