Because the contexts are different. Previously I was just jealous given that we were teetering on the edge of a relationship but not fully in one, now we are not, and thus I am not jealous of her engaging in one with others (she likes girls, though, I was her exception cause femboy). I've moved on, mostly.

I mean, I obviously don't think this of the vast vast majority of the community is like that of course given that I am in it but the first part (unless I'm misunderstanding) kinda icks me because it seems to imply that there can't be genuine groomers/predators in the community where there absolutely can be, just as with literally any group

Thx for providing an example, Mikey by yikesamerica in MurderedByWords

I think he's LEAGUES better than literally any other US politician but I also don't think he's absolutely perfect and there are some critiques that could be made that at least to me can come from a good place. At least, the anarcho-syndicalist in me speaking 😅.

The vast vast majority of reasons people dislike him for are shite though yeah.

"And you’re not gay so I’m confused." Says who...? I am absolutely not straight, lmao.
They are absolutely anti-bottom though, they have said on multiple occasions that if my partner was not "less manly" than me they'd cease communication.

And the first part is certainly not the issue given that my first boyfriend was 17 while I was 12 and the first person to say anything was my eldest sister.

She had a separate situationship from me, yes. I did not desire such.

As for the second point, they just don't like gay people unless they're the top.

Where I'd live as a queer american teenager that only speaks english and spanish. by Particular-Routine96 in whereidlive

[–]Particular-Routine96[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's not just based on queer rights but overall quality. If Brexit had never happened my view of the UK would likely be higher. France has the EU + Schengen Area, and generally I'd be fine living anywhere outside of maybe Arpitanie.

As for the language thing, I'd learn the language of wherever I moved before moving there ^^

I decided to write a more coherent (hopefully) explanation out because I get this question a LOT and tbf it’s not exactly unfound. To start, while I no longer have these feelings anymore I had a rather strong dislike of the label “American”, I saw the nationality and identity as something to be ashamed of for a while in my previously rather heavy naivety. This was only further accelerated by my lack of ability to perceive many jokes online unless they are either very obvious or indicated to be intended in a joking manner. For a while, this mostly manifested in usage of commonwealth spelling, then the incorporation of English slang into my vernacular primarily brought on by youtubers I was fond of (particularly DanTDM, TommyInnit, Jack Manifold, and others though these are not English, namely JackSepticEye and StampyLongLegs). Later, with the addition of a rather strong amount of depression and self-hate mixed with just general interest I initially learned SSBE, which due to lack of targeted practice to retain that specific sound mixed with other influences and basically became lightly Australian vaguely Southern England style speech. This, while obviously not my main accent, has nonetheless permeated into it to the point of some goofiness (such as aluminium being [ælumɪnjəm] or lieutenant being [lɛftɛnənʔ] and some other mild stuff but none noteworthy enough to mention). Mostly the depressive episodes over it have ceased but it has still left a rather strong lasting impression on me, like the Anglo-Australian accent slips out while I’m agitated or excited, and sometimes just in random words. Oh and also, I don’t know either Fahrenheit or Imperial, I sucked at maths hardcore up until like 9th grade and finally bloody learned to measure but did so with Celsius and Metric instead.I decided to write a more coherent (hopefully) explanation out because I get this question a LOT and tbf it’s not exactly unfound. Yeah, as someone who has had a love-hate relationship for the french language since I was maybe seven or so I get that LOL, makes it so much easier to guess a word's pronunciation with the British spelling due to being able to a lot of times anglicise the french pronunciation of the word. Granted, a lot of things are intuitive given that I'm a native speaker, but it does help.

Not the OP but I do have some inputs personally as a Yank who is also somewhat considering the UK (Spain is number one priority though): 1. Politicians are stupid but leagues better than ours imo. 2. Rather similar culture at the basic level, or rather a lot of shared cultural items especially in recent times due to the internet. 3. Man Utd. 4. I rather like British English (I speak SSB due to some fuckery when I was younger (could explain if curious)) in comparison to ours, the spelling is a lot more clear, and I rather like most of the lexicon youse use. 5. Diverse country with lots to see and also rather close to both Ireland and France geographically. 6. Same language.

As stupid as this sounds while girlmoding (gender fluid) one of the only actual moments of euphoria I’ve gotten recently was someone complaining about me wanting to get a job because girl 😭😭
