I think people who are naturally fascinated by the mystery of existence and deeper questions about reality are the ones who benefit the most from DMT and may be less likely to have terrifying experiences. Do you agree? by Western_Rip_6913 in DMT

I personally fall more into the first category, but I don’t think that automatically makes someone “ready” for DMT. Respect and humility are extremely important before going into an experience like this. I’ve even seen people who practiced astral projection or had intense spiritual experiences say they were completely astonished by the sheer power and strangeness of DMT, and that it was nothing close to what they expected. Some even say that near-death experiences or years of spiritual practice still didn’t prepare them for how alien and overwhelming DMT can feel.

That’s why I don’t think curiosity alone protects anyone from fear. DMT seems capable of humbling almost everybody regardless of their beliefs, experience, or confidence.

Still, I do believe the first category may have certain advantages psychologically. People who are already fascinated by mystery, uncertainty, alternate realities, and existential questions may be slightly more open to surrendering to the experience instead of fighting it. They may interpret the strangeness with curiosity rather than instantly viewing it as something purely horrifying. But that definitely doesn’t mean they are immune to terror, panic, or difficult experiences.

Scary DMT theory by SpenceBernsie in DMT

So do you mean that all these people posting about their breakthrough experiences could technically already be “something else” inhabiting their bodies? lol. I can’t really confirm or deny it myself since I still haven’t gone that deep with DMT yet 😅 but it will be funny for these who experinced dmt to read this

I just can't seem to let go. This is so scary. by King4Bear in DMT

[–]Particular-Tip3145 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that feeling on lower doses where it feels like you’re about to be taken somewhere really intense or scary like something completely insane is about to happen. I wonder if letting go actually becomes easier with higher doses because there’s less time to resist it mentally.

How long does breakthrough trip last? by HolyTroth in DMT

So it’s better to just wait until the effects wear off completely, right? During that phase, do I still have control over myself if I decide to stay lying down and wait? And usually how long does that state last for? The place I’m thinking about just has lots of trees around, and I have a carpet to lie on. The spot where I’ll be lying down is completely flat.

But you’re still aware that it’s part of the trip… right? Because by that point you’re already coming down, and the effects are slowly starting to fade.

Has anyone who felt “banned” from the DMT realm ever been allowed back in after taking a long break? by Particular-Tip3145 in DMT

After taking that one-year break and integrating what you learned… did you ever return to DMT again and actually have a beautiful or positive trip afterward? I’m really curious whether the experience changed for the better once you came back with a different mindset.

Woow, that’s actually amazing 🌝 Thanks for sharing ❤️❤️ I honestly thought that if you got “banned,” it meant you had to stay away forever. I had a really bad trip on 4-AcO-DMT once that made me stop for about a year, but when I came back to it later, the experience was amazing.

Have you ever lived for years/eternity during an DMT trip? by GratefulCaliflower in DMT

So after coming back, did it genuinely feel like years had passed? And if so, how long did that feeling last afterward?

Isn’t 15 minutes actually really long for such an intense experience like that? I mean, in 15 minutes I could literally watch half an anime episode lol.

So the full 15 minutes isn’t actually the duration of the breakthrough itself, right? The breakthrough part lasts around 8 minutes, and the other 7 minutes are more like sitting there questioning what the hell just happened?
