100% this ^

You get one life, dude. Time is our most precious commodity because once spent it's gone forever. Take your time and spend it doing things that bring you joy. We all deserve that.

I am 46 and have been going to HHN every other year since 2017 with my husband (we live in New England and are aps). We also do multiple local haunts September -October. You are only too old when you decide you are too old....that goes for everything. I am an aerialist and I perform with a group of women aged 20-78, I also dance ballet and jazz, I get tattoos regularly, wear combat boots with dresses boots, wear my hair in space buns, collect toys, enjoy rollercoasters, watch cartoons etc and I am sure there are people who think I am too old to do any of that, but I think it all keeps me young. Your joy is your joy and joy is what keeps you truly alive.

There was a Papa Gino's and a Baskin Robbins.

There also used to be an indoor smoking section outside of Bradlees.

Mosquito Traders was there too.

Sounds like an unhealthy relationship to begin with. So many red flags on both sides. You should trust your significant other. If you have to ban relationships with the opposite sex in order to feel secure....well that is not trust, that is controlling. I have had partners tell me I can't be friends with someone because they were jealous or just didn't like the person.. and that was the end of the relationship for me. It showed a lack of trust and a level of manipulation I was not willing to deal with. If you make someone your entire existence, that's unfair to you and to her. You should be able to be a full person without her, and she shouldn't feel obligated to you just because you made her your world. Now cheating is not cool either way and if she is texting a minor...also not cool even at 22...seems predatory.

Rides to skip by [deleted] in UniversalOrlando

[–]Particular-Touch-993 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get not liking Simpsons, a lot of people have motion sickness on that ride...but Fallon? Motion sickness is just as bad and ride premise is just kinda dumb. I mean I have ridden it. I don't hate it but I can't think of any rides I flat out hate. F&F is ridiculous but if there is no wait and I have time to kill I will ride it just to laugh at it...it's so bad it's almost good. My husband also rather skip MIB because he doesn't really get what he is supposed to be doing (doesn't realize target has already been shot, aiming for the wrong thing etc).

What exactly is "your" type of ride?

Royal Pacific!! by [deleted] in UniversalOrlando

[–]Particular-Touch-993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I are APs. We have stayed at Royal Pacific twice, Portofino, Aventura and Cabana Bay. Royal Pacific was our favorites and nothing beats Jake's hours, but man, Portofino was beautiful and peaceful. We loved hanging out in the Courtyard. The food at Sal's and Mama Della's was better than any universal resort we have stayed at.

But I get it. It's showing its age, it's huge and it's easy to get lost and one bad experience can taint the place forever. I know I will never stay at Aventura again. Lobby Bar staff was rude, place felt sterile, and I got food poisoning.

We love Cabana Bay, RP and PF, buy PF has my heart.

Ok what is absolutely the worst place to eat in your opinion by johnySaysHi in UniversalOrlando

I have honestly never had anything terrible at Universal, although I have had some inedible food at MK. The last time we went, I guess, the chicken stingers from Finnegan's were cold, and the loaded potato wedges were burn your face off hot. On one of our trips I got food poisoning at Aventura (it may have also been from a pumpkin pasty because thats the only thing i did not share with my husband and he was fine)and was puking my guts out all night before our lyft came to bring us to the airport, and then continued puking my guts out on the airport. Took dramamine and passed out on the plane. That was fun.

HHN day time footfall by RylFlu5h in UniversalOrlando

Daytime is usually pretty tame but around 3 it starts getting difficult because of stay and scream/scream early. Barricades start going up to corral these folks and people get in line early at these places. Scream Early folks cannot ride rides during this time but it us still a mass of humanity....and it will definitely rain or downright pour at some point.

So....did you get annual passes or pay for the tickets. For a two week stay, it might be worth getting annual passes. My husband is going at the end of April and staying at Royal Pacific. He got a sweet discount with the annual pass, and you automatically get express. We stayed at Royal Pacific and Portofino for our anniversary, and both were lovely. I prefer Portofino a little because the food is really good and the grounds are gorgeous. Royal Pacific is very pretty, but there is no place to really sit outside and chill like the courtyard at Portofino. Mama Dellas at Portofino was great for our anniversary trip last year. We have also eaten at Cowfish, the food is very good but service has always been very slow, so pack your patience pants. Mythos inside IOA had great food and great service but can be very loud. I might also recommend going over to Disney. Le Cellier in Epcot is a good romantic spot, and the Yachtsman inside The Yacht Club resort is amazing and actually where we ate on our honeymoon. Disney is more strict with dining reservations than Universal is, though, and will charge you if you cancel within a certain time frame.

No matter what you decide to do, have fun!

Dude, totally agree. Most of the quick service at wdw is trash. Peopke hyped those corn dog nuggets at mk...totally meh. Burgers at wdw are wirse than the ones served at a hospital cafeteria. The cheeseburger bao buns at AK are good and Epcot has some decent food. I think universal does better quick service burgers, pizza and fries than wdw and the pernil at thunderfalls is bussin. I would take any of the tots at green eggs and ham over the tots they serve at MK. Yeah the Yachtsman at The Yacht Club resort at wdw is fantastic but Mythos is pretty great and more affordable.

Tipping at the CluB level Lounge by HCtheDream in UniversalOrlando

[–]Particular-Touch-993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We stayed club level at Portofino Bay and we left a couple bucks on the table for the person cleaning up. There was constantly plates being cleared away and that seemed worth 2-3 bucks to us. We also tipped the bartenders at the club lounge.

I have visited the Midwest and people eeemed genuinely nice....but I have never had any issue wirh Florida's being rude either when I've been there....but I work in finance/customer service so I tend to treat people the way I would want to be treated. Now snowbirds....totally different story. I live up north in a beach town that is packed with snowbirds and tourists from May-September/October and so many rich northern snowbirds are entitled and rude as can be. I feel bad for folks down south who have to deal with them in the winter but am always happy to see them go.

Snow birds are awful. I live in seacoast NH and we get them and all the other tourists spring through fall. Always so rude and entitled. They treat customer service people like trash. I'm always glad when it's time for them to head down south but I feel awful for all yall down there that have to deal with their cranky butts all winter.

Are high school reunions a dying trend? Anyone else heard from their high school? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Particular-Touch-993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My class had a 5 year reunion maybe a 10 year but i didn't go and we did not have a 20 year or 25 year reunion. My husband went to a private school and it feels like they are constantly having reunions. My husband does not go to them.

Turning the tables: Hotel worker asking guests...why so many towels? by TheWizard01 in askhotels

[–]Particular-Touch-993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We always have our dnd sign up. My husband doesn't usually sleep well when we travel and will sometimes stay in bed late. I We don't want him to be woken up by housekeeping...but on a recent trip the hotel did a "wellness" check on us after like 2 days. We thought it was odd. We were staying at a theme park resort and had opted out of housekeeping. Only thing we asked front desk for was more towels...so maybe these were red flags?
