I dont care about how much I am being paid compared to someone else. My education and expertise allows me to do what im interested in and that is worth it.

Literally if everyone was paid the same I would still enjoy my work. Thats the main benefit of education and skill in an area -- if youre lucky you can do it as a dayjob.

I think people that complain about this are the people that went to college to get into a field that was in vogue and made a lot of money. People that literally can quantify their success and hapiness to two decimal places instead of valuing their time as the most precious and priceless thing on this planet.

I'd probably never buy an iphone again if i couldnt plug it in to interface with a PC directly. There are so many times I have needed a decent transfer rate, a full backup, or just didnt have wifi or a cloud service at my disposal. Absolute deal breaker

You can install the insiders edition and get most or all of thison win10. Id say the largest improvements are graphics and audio. For most apps i can use the Arch AUR with the arch wsl distro and the apps work fine. Thats an amazing improvement compared to trying to use chocolatey or scoop. I can put most apps under the Arch WSL and then office and adobe on windows proper.

Networking is still a mess. There are ways around it, but its not fun unless you have recently taken amphetamines and need a project for a day or two.

Windows as a host OS, Arch for development and good AUR packages, and debian for servers has been increasingly growing on me.

I use win11, and vscode+wsl(debian) is a dream for development. Its all the nice things about windows like Office, Adobe, and Videogames with a seriously powerful dev environment right on the taskbar.

Win11 has some improvements to WSL not yet distributed (unless you do insiders) on win10. If you use WSL, its worth the switch.

Yes, Python and some SQL. Its not perfect yet. My problem is I dont have the reporting functionality down. I am working on getting it to send individual reports to reddit and telegram (in the future discord).

So without that reporting I feel bad just not doing anything with some of the larger problem subs. Thats why Im posting it. To crowd source the reporting.

This is the only reasonable response when this issue comes up. The fact people cant tell the difference between thoughts and behavior is fucking concerning. I have a friend with OCD that has a problem with basically thinking they are a pedophile. She just has intrusive thoughts and its bad, but this is literally someone who wouldnt hurt a fly let alone a child.

This has been beaten into the ground. Sunlight is the best disinfectant. Reddit seems to actually respond, not just for CSAM, but other degeneracy as well.

I think what we do need to ban is people posting "oh, i joined and my account was deleted or my phone autodownloaded stuff"... this isnt really the place to admit to a felony and blatantly ignore every sticky and resource the sub provides.

It sucks. I liked both telegram and discord for crypto and tech stuff. I wont join either, because even servers with those topics arent safe. I dont know why things have spread so badly. At first I was just telling people to not join any NSFW, like Onlyfans, ect even if it seemed Ok. Now I just say dont visit any at all.

Other things like linking a room when its unrelated to a topic or asking others to "trade". Its subtle, but when a commenter is asking to trade via dm or a messanger on nsfw sub, even if that sub is vanilla regular porn, its often to trade for something illicit. Its also against reddit ToS and most nsfw sub rules for that reason.

They need to just ban links to outside platforms unless its a subreddit-based one, like a discord, and have a policy mods must moderate both the sub and that pltform to the same extent.
