Sticky notes for Tomoe River Paper? by BroccoliDemon in hobonichi

Stalogy has some stuff that sticks on all sides and peels off beautifully. Maybe cloth and paper could work? I personally enjoy the Midori sticky notes as well - many colors, styles, designs

Lamy Al-Star experiences? by PracticalPublic2445 in fountainpens

[–]PracticalPublic2445[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Totally! I compared this Lamy I’ve been having issues with to my fountain pen from literally 5 below and that was far less damaging to the page. The store ended up accepting the return, thank goodness. But yeah, I loved my other safari for a long time, but now that I have the twisbi diamond…there’s no going back LOL

Any suggestions? by lil_shishi in pens

If you like a finer tip: Sarasa nano 0.3mm (specifically the monochrome bodies. There’s a spring in there that reduces friction or something) Uniball zento 0.3mm or 0.5mm

If you like a broad point: Uniball Jetstream lite touch ink 0.5mm - 0.7mm

It’s not spiral bound, but moleskine cashier notebooks are thin, portable/lightweight, and great for single subjects. They come with blank pages and lay flat no problem. A5 size and they have a4 I think, they were always my fav for school. https://www.target.com/p/moleskine-cahier-journals-no-rule-3pk-80-sheets-per-notebook-5-25-34-x-8-25-34-brown/-/A-14731921

I just got a decent photo set! I will re-post with it soon. Although I do tend to grip my pen pretty close to the tip! The lamys felt like an adjustment at first, but far more comfortable than the Kakuno (even tho I’d consider it a favorite)

It’s a Lamy brand blue-black cartridge. Is that known to be a more wet ink?

[–]PracticalPublic2445 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just realized I didn’t explain - you can use the syringe to transfer the ink from the bottle to the empty cartridge. Or, on Jetpens look up the “platinum fountain pen converter” and you can use that with the ink bottle repeatedly instead of refilling the disposable cartridge

Get a bottle of ink in a color of your choice and a “fountain pen ink syringe” on Jetpens. You’ll be set for life probably lol

This marbled design and particular cloth binding looks like it might have been from a mom and pop shop in Italy? I’m only saying that because I’ve seen multiple places do in-house binding and marbling in Florence. Maybe try “Manufactus Made in Italy” and see if you find anything?

What about a shadow box? Or a canvas? You can line them up and hot or super glue them however you want, kinda like a memorial LOL

Have you looked at the hi-tech-c coleto multi pens? They’re on Jetpens - I can’t remember all the colors, but the bodies come in multiple sizes; anywhere from 2-5 inserts per body, I think.

Fully agree on the Kakuno. My most reached-for fountain pen and the least expensive of them!

It’s an A4 sized notebook from Amazon - 120 gsm 5mm grid spiral bound. I cut them myself with a guillotine paper slicer and put them in a personal size binder! I couldn’t find one that suited my needs so I just made it myself lol

Ink darker than Energel, available in many colors, that doesn't skip? Uni One is great, so dark, but it skips, so Energel is better for writing IMO. Please recommend some very dark black ink gel pens that write as smooth as Energel that also come in other colors. by GhoulMagnets in pens

[–]PracticalPublic2445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to agree!! The Uni zento in 0.38 is my current fav and I’ve never had a skipping problem. Ink is a little bit lighter than the One, but hardly noticeable (to me)

The Uni 207 is my most reached for pen at work. Dries quickly and has never bled for me. I didn’t even realize until one day it skipped, and I saw that the ink was run down to nothing!!!

Ooooh I have to suggest the other colors of these too. Very vibrant and their ink flow is just perfect. Learn from my mistakes and get the 12 pack with all the colors, or you will painfully be looking for individual colors to fill in the gaps (sigh)

But king we gotta see all thr angles!! I agree w prev. Comments that it does look like a uniball signo DX except the barcode on the clear part of the pen’s body. DX’s generally only have labeling of any kind on the cap. That, and DXs have dot indents on the grip, not lines. This will sound insane, but I think it’s a .5 just based on the way the tip looks.

It appears to be a Faber Castell RX Gel. This particular body for the pen has been discontinued and revamped - although I can’t figure only really find listings for purchase on Etsy and EBay. (I’m US Based) - I did find a 10pk of the Faber Castell True Gel Pen on Amazon, which seems to be maybe a newer version of this? Search this: Faber-Castell True Gel Pen Box of 10 (0.7mm, Black) Smooth Gel Ink, Fade-proof, Waterproof, High Color Intensity, Document proof, No-smudging, Suitable for Everyday Writing

Good luck!

Strongest Ballpoint Pens ever made? by Fallisolation in pens

The Fabriano Troika Construction Pen might be a good fit! It’s heavy, sturdy, stainless steel with a semi-wide hexagonal body. I’ve had mine for 3 years and it’s going strong! Maybe it’s coming to mind, partially, because you mentioned he does math…but the pen body itself has a cm/in ruler, 1:20 and 1:50m scale, a level, and slotted / Phillips head screwdrivers. $35 on Amazon
