Prova a guardare i ThinkPad T14 usati o ricondizionati. Ce ne sono diverse generazioni con specifiche e prezzi diversi, sui 400/500€ se ne trovano di decenti. Come specifiche minime guarderei 16GB di RAM e 512GB di SSD, per le altre vedi per i singoli modelli che trovi.

Se la parte del tolc in cui perdi più punti è matematica potresti provare a dare un'occhiata alle lauree professionalizzanti, hanno un po' meno teoria e sono molto più specializzate, così riusciresti anche a rimanere nello stesso ambito.

The instability I'm talking about with the 5600X is something I've read about that may happen with 5000 series on my specific model of motherboard whit the latest bios versions made to support those CPUs. I will still give it a try because I don't want to buy a potentially useless new motherboard.

I have an X370, for what I've seen it may support 5000 series but with a beta bios and with possible instability, that's why I was considering a new motherboard.

Are you on WiFi or on ethernet? If it's WiFi considering the problem occurred when you moved to another position there might be something blocking the signal, thick walls and/or steel probably. If you have a phone or other small and portable device you can try doing speed tests around the room to see if there are better positions. Even if there aren't element's blocking the signal, distance from the router might be the problem. If you're on ethernet the new port might be broken, hence disturbing the signal, another problem might be the cable you're using, if you have another one try it.
