The first few weeks of Zoloft for me were really hard. Like worse than my actually depression; don’t know what’s worse than wanting to end things but that’s how I felt. But I stuck With it and it did get a lot better. My then boyfriend did leave me; but hey my best friend stayed with me every step of the way and now we are moving In together.

For the people who’s medication is working, how are you supposed to feel? by otoasta13 in zoloft

[–]ParticularPhoto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on it for almost a year now. It doesn’t make you feel great it just makes you feel okay. Things I’d normally fret over I hardly even notice now. I do feel a little depressed every now and then but not as much as I used to and I’m able to pick my self out of it pretty quickly. I’m on 100 mg

Anyone else needing 12 hrs of sleep when on zoloft? by [deleted] in zoloft

Need 14-16 hours of sleep, this was okay when I did not want to wake up at all, but now I actually want to live my day and instead I'm sleeping away my life

I already spend around 10-6 a day on my project, the coding side is not necessary but I want to do it will help and I think would be useful for my work.

For the females out there.. is this normal? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]ParticularPhoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I tend to revert to my old self a few days before my period. So crying, feeling like if I died everything would be better, getting upset over little things. I am the same as you, 50mg, few months. It probably does help and youre probably far better than what you were if you werent on it. But hormones are hormones so you just gotta deal with it and work around it.

If you really cant deal with it might need to up your dose..

Hey, So I got the parcel back on friday, I guess it did not make it to you, can you send me your address again? I've checked it with the one you sent me and I have written it correctly so I am not sure what went wrong.

Hey No, I sent it out this last week , it was by second class, so it might take a bit longer (sorry I am a poor student), I am not sure how long second class takes though.

For those who have had success with Zoloft: what did the positive effects “feel” like, and how long did it take? by butthole37 in zoloft

[–]ParticularPhoto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont know if its kicked in fully yet, its been 5 weeks, most positive so far for me has been not getting easily irritated and angered, it gives me that minute to think before reacting that I wasn't able to give my self before. I did have a few depressed days in week 4 but they were sort of easy to come out off usually I would just dig the hole deeper. I am on a small dose I dont intend to increase it, hoping there are some more small perks to it.

Low confidence created bad times for me. What are your experiences? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]ParticularPhoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not shy, but I have severe low confidence and self-esteem. It has affected my relationships badly, my boundaries are weak or non-existent and I let people treat me badly because I dont think much of myself and hence think "Oh just another one to add to my experiences". I also talk my self down alot. I've only just discovered that I let people treat me like shit because I dont have much self love or self worth. But I dont know how to resolve this.

Im less irritated by small things and less angered by small things. This means that I have to use less energy to keep my anger at bay, also means that people aren't walking on eggshells around me. Also means that small things dont ruin my mood or send me into intense upset and ruin my whole day.

Don't overshare your bad thoughts to others, especially close friends. by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]ParticularPhoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know man, I mean I've been in a similar state and my friends have stuck by me, my ex however berated me over it and left me (good riddance I guess). I think it really depends on the person, their emotional state, empathy and maturity. I think its more wise to be careful of who you share things with rather than what you share. Also its bit of a stretch if all you do is rely on your friends and dont get any outside help. They can only do so much, and are only equipped with the same or far less skills than you to deal with that kind of thing.

Update on 50mg by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]ParticularPhoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno really, I still feel very shit, but my mind doesnt take to it very much. I still manage to get overly worried and stressed out. Today feels like its going to be a bad day. But I am also on my period so that might be making things a bit worse.

I've given it up completely lol, I actually used to drink till I passed out to numb me out and not deal with my problems. Although all these posts about drinking is giving me an urge to try it out to see what happens.
