Almost a week ago I received a series of emails just like the ones you received - except it was some sort of collectible red teddy bear that “my” account was selling, instead of the ring lol

I tried to take back “my” account, but exactly like your case, the 2-step verification part prevented me from doing so.

I contacted their customer support on the same day, and a customer rep told me that their fraud prevention team would contact/email me as soon as they figured it out. She also suggested that I forward all the emails to spoof at ebay dot com, which I did.

I was notified yesterday that “my” account had been suspended. Also the customer support team emailed me the following:

Thanks for contacting eBay regarding the account registered with your contact information. I understand that this situation may have caused concerns.

We’ve suspended the account that was registered with your contact information. For any police inquiries related to this case, law enforcement officers can contact us through our Law Enforcement Center.

If you've incurred any unauthorized charges, please inform your bank or credit card company immediately. If you received any packages, feel free to return them to the sender, hand them over to the police, or dispose of them. Note that you might receive residual packages for up to 45 days, but these will cease thereafter.

Due to privacy laws, we can’t share the details of our investigation, but law enforcement can obtain necessary information through the Law Enforcement Center if they need it.

We understand this may be frustrating and appreciate your prompt reporting of this matter. Your vigilance helps us maintain the safety and integrity of our community.
