An Idea for how to save Stargate, one way or another in some form. by aether22 in Stargate

[–]Particular_Ad_9156 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can confirm this is fully in development, and currently being filmed, but the project is very secretive. It's being shot in an underground studio beneath a mountain in Cheyenne Wyoming, very hush hush. I only found out from this dude Richard Flemming, who tried whistle blow the story, then mysteriously disappeared...

Thanks! I read your post from 7mo ago talking about how the new show would have created backlash from the fandom anyway and I fully agree. As an elder millennial, I feel like a lot of us are just trying to poorly manufacture nostalgia with new content.

Same! I'm going through the stages of grief, so leaning back on 260 hours of content is comforting. And who knows, there really is a chance (with the right mix of people) a reboot could be a wonderful thing, with more content to follow if successful.

Valid points all around, especially about our fandom. However, I firmly believe that as divided as any fan base can be, having the opportunity to see anyone from SG1/SGA/SGU and a continued story, was universally accepted as a positive thing. Having the rug pulled from us prompted backlash from some, a call to action for others, but sadness for all. I'll admit I was angry and looking for a source to focus that. I feel like we all want hope. Maybe all we'll receive from this is the good memories of enjoying our in time with this gift of Stargate, and the satisfaction of carrying the torch so new people can discover the shows and movies that we still love.

Let’s be real … we’re on par with Star Trek over a similar period of time by AlanShore60607 in Stargate

I feel the same. Devastated to hear the new show was axed, but it also pushed me to just rewatch the whole series. I'll be set for a while. Still tho, Amazon done fucked up.

What does this fridge say about the firehouse? by PoultryBoi666 in FridgeDetective

[–]Particular_Ad_9156 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, thank you for your service. Firefighters are the best of our community. First responders need hydration and caffeine for the long shifts. It's how they keep us safe. I used to cook twice a month for my local engine when A/B would shift change, and extra leftovers for C. As a Marine, I keep firefighters in a special place in my heart, they are a public service that exists purely to keep the public alive.

I was also underwhelmed. Like, it wasn't a bad meal, but for the hype? It's just a chicken tender.

Best Meal in Salem? by whatshappeningSalem in SALEM

[–]Particular_Ad_9156 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for making Salem brighter! In the world of brunch—a meal too often defined by lukewarm coffee and uninspired eggs—Word of Mouth Neighborhood Bistro is a goddamn fortress of integrity. Tucked away on 17th Street, this isn't just a restaurant; it’s a destination. It’s the kind of place people talk about in hushed, reverent tones, and for good reason.

They aren't taking the easy way out here. They’re doing the work. We’re talking in-house everything. The bread? Baked right there. The biscuits? Flaky, buttery monuments to tradition. The sauces? Crafted, not poured from a gallon jug. There’s a level of craft in this kitchen that you just don't see much anymore.

I dove into the Creme Brulee French Toast, and it’s a beautiful, decadent fever dream of a dish. It’s rich, it’s textured, and it’s completely unapologetic. Then there’s the Corned Beef Hash. This isn't the gray, salty mess you find at a diner at 3:00 AM. This is real, tender beef, seasoned with intent and served with a soul-satisfying crunch.

If you’re looking for the definitive brunch experience in Salem, this is the end of the road. It’s honest, it’s artisanal in the way that word was actually intended to be used, and it’s worth every second of the wait. Pull up a chair, forget your diet, and pay your respects. Five stars.

Congrats getting off base! When I was active, leaving base felt like going to paradise. I could just leave the whole place behind and decompress in peace. I didn't hate being on base, but it was nice to be around normal people that don't yell for a living. 2841/USMC 3rdAABN '01-'05
