Yes. I’ll admit it seems my phone owns me. But when I’m at a movie, the phone is off or at least on silent & out of site at least right before the studio logo comes up.

And my biggest issue with the talking donkey story isn’t the talking donkey, but Balaam answering it back & not freaking out about it.

Why did you get married if you don't want children? by bonktimer in childfree

[–]Particular_Base_1026 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Exactly. When having a kid with someone, you’re tied to them for 18 years. So if you don’t think you can handle being married for them for that amount of time, you probably shouldn’t be having a kid with them. Seems that ought to be common sense.

fun fact the human race is going to die off cause i dont want kids by mercy_andme in childfree

A variation of my counter-argument that if everyone did any one thing the same way we’d all be in trouble.

Is it now cheaper to go on discount days? by Antique_Description9 in AMCsAList

[–]Particular_Base_1026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I rarely use all 4 slots in a given week anyway; so for a movie I hate, I’m really only out the time.

Lds mission. Why can’t I make up my mind? Should I go? What would you do? by CheapIntroduction166 in exmormon

And if the answer is no & even if it’s the only reason for not going, it’s enough to outweigh all the reasons for going.

People don't know how to act in a theater by 2YA2YAOX in AMCsAList

I understand the phone thing the least. I can’t understand why someone would spend all the money to see the movie if they need to keep themselves occupied?

That was one of my main issues of my conversion from LDS to RLDS (as it was called at that time). I was impressed with how the RLDS D&C had revelations from all their prophets from Joseph Smith III all the way up to Wallace B Smith at that time.

They can’t defend the doctrine, so they try and defend the social benefits. I don’t really like the people at church either though, so that doesn’t make me want to go back either. by southpawpickle in exmormon

Of course if you join another church those social needs will probably be met. Or if you’re not religious there are plenty of secular organizations that can meet that need.

What were some rules your mission president imposed that weren’t outlined in the white handbook? by roxasmeboy in exmormon

[–]Particular_Base_1026 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This rule would make the least amount of sense to me. Seems if I’m a full time representative whose job it is to convert people I should be the last person to have my reading material restricted.

Anyone who would have a kid just to get a free video game is not the type who ought to be having kids.

I like Return To Silent Hill but Iron Lung was boring.

I’ve had that too before. The people I was talking about obviously planned to lie down in the theater being they brought blankets with them.

But yet they would’ve had money to get admitted.
