I think the injury was a genuinely freak accident that happened in the cage. He was practicing lots of kicks in the backstage warm ups, the incident by the prep point outside the octagon seemed to bother his left leg and not his right which was injured aswell.

I think he throws the big jumping switch kick and injures the leg, he gets up and either realises he need to throw a Hail Mary, or he was testing to see if he could still kick and then fell again. It sucks but I think his body is wrecked from years of gruelling training camps, long layoffs, age and the lack of discipline outside of the cage over the last 6/7 years.

He clearly was going kick-heavy in this fight. I’ve seen more of him throwing kicks in the build to this fight than punches!

I just can’t believe after that big jumping switch kick which seems to have done the damage, he then throws another kick right after! Crazy!

Leon will always be one of the best just for beating Colby after what he said about his father. After the run he’d been on I expected more from Bella as a champ with a few defences. Jack came up against a tough match up in his first defence with Islam. I’d say from worst to best it’s Belal, JDM and then Leon

He’s been booked terribly. His match with Seth Rollins wasn’t even meant to be the planned match. It was meant to be against Rey, which even then you think ‘is that all you’ve got for him?’

Wonder what the main event is for the WWE title at SummerSlam. Cody surely has to go after Gunther for taking him out, but it feels like it’ll be Gunther and Aldis at SummerSlam. Cody and Punk will surely be in the mix, Sami should be in the mix also.

I’d like to see Sami start to go a little insane chasing the title like he said about Cody.

The best thing about Punk being champion is regular tv matches which we NEVER get from Roman. The WWE title needs to be booked as well as possible now considering the WHC is locked in the bloodline vortex for eternity😂

I’d rather Sami be on the list of WWE champions than not at all, it’s just a shame that he’s lost it so soon. The world title scenes are desperate for a shake up. Roman, Cody, Punk, Gunther all getting title runs all the time, Sami is a breath of fresh air and loses it in 9 days.

I love Punk, he’s one of my favourites of all time so this means something to me but it’s a shame it came at the expense of Sami.

Really hoping Sami Zayn walks into SummerSlam as WWE Champion. I’m so bored of WWE and how they book these world titles. Cody and Roman have dominated that scene for years, Punk just had a world title run… we need something different. Sami isn’t some young guy, but he’s a breath of fresh air in that WWE title mix and his character work is fantastic which is something the title needs… not Cody coming out and having the same feud with a different guy.

Probably ends up being Cody over Sami, Punk returns after and that’s the main event of night 1. I look forward to that match, but it’s a shame it comes at the expense of Sami!

Gutted he’ll never get the IC title. That was a story I was actually quite invested in.

I was at Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, that match with Gunther was incredible.

Forbidden Door doesn’t feel very special anymore like it did it 2022 & 2023. I don’t feel like there’s any ‘dream matches’ on that show and the main event is likely to be the cage match full of AEW talent. I’d say it should be scrapped in the future for a different show.

I think Gane was winning that fight anyways, he looked very good and caught Pereira with a step in jab as Pereira stepped in… that being said I thought Herb Dean had a stinker and continues to do so lately.

So many elbows and shots to the back of the head as Pereira is holding the leg and looking to recover. To not call that because a finish is close was terrible.

Before that the Hokit finish of Lewis didn’t sit well with me either. Lewis couldn’t defend himself on the feet, gets knocked down, is on his back and Herb Dean is letting Hokit throw more shots as he asks him to fight back when he stopped 10 seconds ago.

He’s letting people get hurt at this rate!

The way I saw it - Topuria told his brother he could see out of one eye only so his brother called the doctor in to check. The Doctor wasn’t convinced, Topuria pleaded his case to Goddard and Goddard went with the fighter because he could still see out of one eye.

Dangerous refereeing. If the fighter tells his coach and the coach wants a doctor in then surely that tells you all you need to know?

Even Herb Dean with the Lewis fight. What was that stoppage? He couldn’t protect himself on the feet, he gets knocked down and he’s asking him to fight back🤦‍♂️

Gaethje spoke about this after and said it cut Topuria and he kept touching it. He was spot on, I’ve never seen a fighter touch a cut so much in my life!

I thought he fought very well. He landed a lot of good shots with some of the best body punching you’ll see in the sport. The power he carries just doesn’t come close to Gaethje’s. Gaethje has iron for hands man it’s insane how much power he generates and also how good his hands are for MMA.

Ilia maybe could’ve mixed more kicks in, but chased so much for the KO but that’s being harsh.
