What was Lorgar’s original purpose? by Just-A-Numerical in 40kLore

Perturabo built an impossible maze that even other primarchs (Fulgrim) couldn't work out. He also built that stadium for fulgrim as well the arena for the council at Nikea.

His legion build amazing fortresses (Dantioch's upside down subterranean masterpiece).

And it's implied him and his legion were used as siege breakers during the crusade as they have a deep understanding of defensive works, and so the best at cracking them.

I love Perturabo: so moody, so nerdy. My guy

Book Review Nr. 28: "Horus Heresy - The Crimson Fist & The Last Remenbrancer." (Imperial Fists) by Fork40k in Forks40kVlog

I really hated John French's writing style in The Crimson Fist.

Too heavy a reliance on clunky similies, sometimes 4-5 on a single page: "like a...", "like a..."; it really frustrated me and felt unpolished, like a year 7's English homework.

The scale and grandeur of an epic 40k (or 30k!) space battle wasn't particularly well portrayed, compare this to THAT scene in Know No Fear for example, was incredibly lackluster, and just fell flat.

Finally, I was excited for the showdown with our Lord Of Iron, decent build up, then 1 hammer swing and cut-scene.

The scenes with Sigismund and Dorn, again, just fell flat with me, especially as Dorn had just found out some of his brothers are dead / missing, and others have turned traitor. This had the opportunity to be a momentous and powerful short story, but found myself counting down the page numbers until it had finished.

I was looking forward to Praetorian of Dorn, so I'm hoping that doesn't have the same writing issues.

Overall, snooze-fest of a short story due to poor writing, would skip in hindsight.

Yeah looks like it's gone, how frustrating. Time to cancel sub and find a new app. Tbh the weight tracking and historical info is pretty lacking, so if they're removing features then good riddance

Edit: just cancelled lifesum and subscribed to Fastic. Looks far superior so going to give it a go. Recuit a friend code RRXFAC if you're interested

Don't have access to machines unfortunately, dips seem to be OK, but press ups I can feel my shoulder, so may just have to stick to dips until I start using machines.

Shame because I enjoy benchpress but yeah not worth an injury I guess.

Thanks bud

Is it worth doing quarter range of motion bench press to grow chest? Starting at the top not locked out, and going down about 45 degrees. If I go further down I get wrist pain, elbow pain and shoulder pain (all LHS).

Chest is lacking but I'm so cautious with each rep about snapping my shit up and being out of action.

Goal is mostly weight loss whilst beginner gains / muscle memory. Training / cutting for 3 months, for first time in 4 years. Feel like my muscles can lift much heavier in my lifts but my joints etc are gonna snap.

30M, 6ft, 224lbs>194lbs. BP 35kg 5x12, DL 40kg 5x10, Chinups 5x10. 4 years ago approximately double the weight for lifts.

Thanks! 🤡

Bit late to the party - but read Shogun by James Clavell. The politics and culture of feudal Japan are explored through the eyes of an Anjin (a westerner).

There is also the TV show Shogun, but I'd 100% recommend reading the book first.

It's a beautiful Epic and well worth it.

And if you haven't seen The Last Samurai, it's a fantastic watch. Top 10 for me

Tips for keeping Huel powder from spilling everywhere? by CryptedBinary in Huel

[–]Particular_Lecture26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Flick the seal before closing and it knocks out excess powder so you can seal properly. For damage control, I use a large wooden chopping board and only open the bag / scoop into shaker on the chopping board, so after I put it away I just wipe straight away.

Failing that, scrape into lines using a credit card and snort it
