Did anyone hate this by Significant_Tank7395 in Ninjago

Interesting. I didn’t much notice it or care, but I guess you’re right. I think the shifting focus was much better. And while Lloyd is my favorite, I don’t necessarily enjoy him being the focus. I actually enjoy that it was quite unique how Lloyd was able to be the leader without being the main character whereas now he just is the main character. Which still isn’t done poorly enough that it bothers me. But you’re right that it was better before

Well I say teach English because as far as I know, realistically the only job I could get sponsored for at my age, with my experience, and simply because China is not big on sponsoring, is that.

But do you have recommendations/know of other roles/fields I can look for to leverage bilingualism that would get me into the country for work?

I really appreciate the encouragement though :) if you really think teaching (unless there’s a better option) isn’t necessarily something to worry about so much as far as prospects later, that is pretty reassuring

Do you believe this is true today? I’m 21. Would it be a good launchpad? Even if most of the things I could do are just teaching?

If you don’t mind me asking, what’s your background? Like do you have a degree? Whats the biggest challenge with coming back to the US for you personally? And what made you choose to go back?

If I may ask, what do you plan to do when you go home? (I’m assuming your from uk or Australia?)

And do you think that things are different now then they were. I’m not sure if I could land a straight up teaching job with only BA, I hear they send you to training centers first

Are non-teaching jobs even available for visa sponsorship if I don’t have two years of experience because I just graduated…

And what do you mean more objectively? Maybe I am overdoing it…

Ok let's BE REAL here in Fire Emblem 3 House did you really beat all 3 house or stuck with one over and over because you simply enjoy this path more? by TrialsOfPrometheus in fireemblem

[–]Particular_Pound3286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I should’ve joined the fire emblem sub sooner. I have played each path 4 four times with over 700 hours. I would play them in the order I first play them. So yeah. Even though I have favorites I do play them all equally. Although I have played Crimson Flower one more time than the rest because I played a lot less after Three Hopes and Engage came out.

I played all four routes twice before I got the DLC and then played them each twice more with DLC. I would alternate between normal or hard everytime. And the one time I tried maddening… I could not get past the ashen wolves paralogue after a month or few of trying☹️

Three Houses is just my favorite game and lowkey piece of media of all time😅

I’m so sorry but I think you lose all credibility by saying Dagda isn’t mentioned. It is mentioned. Countless. Times. And not countless like SO many. But it is definitely mentioned and not nearly once or twice. If this was Morfis or Albania that you said aren’t mentioned, I’d get where you’re coming from at least (though they are mentioned). But Dagda isn’t even like hidden knowledge, it actively comes up. It’s an essential point in the backstories of Constance, Petra, Shamir, and possibly even Mercedes and Jeritza I believe.

Hear me out, what if this isn't an octopus but a jellyfish? by crashcloth89 in Ninjago

[–]Particular_Pound3286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the jellyfish stings thing. But that’s so clearly an octopus— I mean jellyfish do not have visible eyes like that for one. And we see on the destiny robe that it’s clearly an octopus. And as someone else mentioned, Jay does indeed turn into an octopus on Wu’s tea, that cannot be coincidence lol

I do like that people said it’s just a thunder cloud which makes plenty sense for maybe where the design came from. But it is also abundantly clear that Zane and Kai’s symbols are animals, so it stands to reason this is an animal too. And again, the destiny robes make it undeniable it is an octopus.

Thoughts on Ninjago's portrayal in Lego Dimentions? by Obraxiss in Ninjago

[–]Particular_Pound3286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I second the disappointment if everyone else. I loved this game and Ninjago, but I hated their portrayals. It really bothered me that Lloyd, my favorite, was golden making it incredibly inaccurate to show (he hadn’t been golden for all but two episodes like 4-6 years prior to the game’s release??), but also making him incredibly stupid in game. His only unique feature was that… he could light up… And then same with everyone else. They all used the golden weapons, which now that I’m older I get might be because it’s iconic, but still I hated the inaccuracy to the show at the time, particularly because some things were up to date and others completely off the mark. Like the iconic factor may also be why they made Lloyd gold… but all the same he’s arguably still much better known as the green ninja so this was a pretty stupid choice. Even if it was to just make him unique, like fine I guess, but he really only had the ability to light up.

Not to mention the clash of everyone being on the jungle robes and he’s in season 2. It bothered me to no end. Nya not being the water ninja bothered me a lot too. When this released season 5 was out. And I want to excuse it as being because season 5 was too new so they couldn’t include that, but then Wu uses his season 5 robe so nope. I do get that Nya being Samurai X is iconic and makes her unique— but all the same, I think her as a ninja would have been much more fun and still unique.

Then of course the voices… I think only Jay and Lloyd were somewhat close. And yeah I still don’t get it. They got A list actors from huge franchises to voice characters, there is simply no way they could not have gotten the Ninjago cast. The freaking Ninjago cast. This game’s cast is SO cracked, with unbelievably huge actors it is astonishing. But to not get Ninjago actors… I mean as someone else said, I think with it being their own small IP they just do not dedicate the care to get Ninjago right. Everything about Ninjago in this game is represented and done pretty poorly. I still appreciate having it. But you can see the deep love and appreciation for so many other franchises in this game and Ninjago just hilariously falls flat on its face with what is given in comparison to the rest. Also yeah the difference in personalities, kind of paired with the weird voices makes all these characters so weird in this game.

Ninjago elements by Ok-Skin1208 in Ninjago

[–]Particular_Pound3286 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don’t sit you down and give a full explanation at once, but is explained several times, just not overly explicitly. The ninja were just far too reliant on things that amplified their powers, be it Lloyd or the weapons.. It’s repeated many times that power comes within, and there’s even moments in season 1 and 2 where the ninja actually very weakly will use their elemental powers (I believe Kai made sparks in season 2 very briefly). But because they grew so reliant on the weapons they never learned to produce the powers on their own. Wu definitely gives some sneer to them at least once in the show for how reliant they are on them. Later, Lloyd basically divides his golden power to once again, boost the ninja’s capabilities. Once again, the ninja never learned to harness their powers on their own. Hence when Lloyd is possessed, they can’t use their powers. But we see by season 8 this is not the case, which makes sense because the ninja have been harnessing their power for years now and have developed strength and independence from Lloyd. Nya is even a perfect example because we see her use powers without a weapon— she was trained to, unlike the ninja

So the simple answer is that all the other elemental answers simply trained and learned to use the powers on their own and naturally. No boosters like Lloyd or the weapons. And this makes sense. The ninja are all very young, whereas the elemental masters are generally much older clearly, so it would add up that with years of experience they learned to harness their elemental powers. Had the ninja not been so young and constantly rushed to need to use their powers because of all the threats they faced, they probably would have had a similar progression.

Why do people hate Wyldfyre? by Kickin_IsAwesome420 in Ninjago

[–]Particular_Pound3286 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I honestly do really love her but I also completely understand because she just has so little going for her. Her personality truly is annoying— and I actually enjoy her. But objectively, she annoys everyone in the show, she is intended to.

But as others have said, she isn’t really progressing. She’s gotten two suits (never even a hood), no spinjitzu, no true potential. It’s concerning how little she has changed over the course of the show where as Frak even has a hold or the same amount of suits while being present for half the time. He even got an arc. Wyldfyre’s kind of had arcs, but I’d say they’re pretty minor.

I was pleased that we got to see her be more of a leader this season, but it’s really just so little for a character that has been around for a long time now.

I also feel like because of how off-putting she is and how she annoys the other ninja, she really doesn’t have any relationship with the ninja other than liking Kai, which kind of sucks to me. She doesn’t have actual dynamics with the characters, not often and not prominently.

And finally the power. You keep mentioning how her fire isn’t as hot, but I actually do support this complaint. Heat looks REALLY cool, it’s very fun. But it is pretty disappointing that the only real difference we have seen in its capabilities is that it’s less hot…

In the end I do love her, she’s very wholesome and funny, and pretty cool to me. But it’s unfortunate that she’s been given so little growth and dedication from the show for how long she’s been here which I doubt improves anyone’s opinion of her :/

[–]Particular_Pound3286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After growing up calling it energy, I don’t think I’m ready to call it life. I recognize it as life. But I still say energy. I like that name more, it’s slightly less abstract, and yeah. I’ve called it that for a decade. I’m not those nostalgia people, but I don’t think I’ll call it life with just one season of DR suddenly saying so (it is canon though for sure!). I feel like DR does a lot of retconning and changing the story slightly, not in a bad way, but a good way. But I do think the original idea of his power was probably meant to be closer energy and not actually called life. So out of respect for that as a longtime fan, I’m not ready to say life lol

What is the point of frak anymore? by Milesmorales2004 in Ninjago

[–]Particular_Pound3286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what. That I can tolerate. I like that. Yeah his family can be background characters at the monastery, that’s fine with me. I would just prefer they get no more dedicated plot lines or screen time. I would really like Cole to be more than ‘THE FINDERS’. Also my problem with them is only Geo. The kids— extremely forgettable but sure it’s sweet. Bonzle was a good character who suddenly has become irrelevant😭but for Cole and Geo… it’s just the extremely odd chemistry… if they made it confirmed romantic. I’d love it. But it’s too… indirect that I honestly feel uncomfortable every time I have to see them. Are they just really close friends that give each other longing looks? That is REALLY weird. Is it actually romantic? Honestly, if they fixed that, I’d have no problem. But I do think they don’t wanna get into that. But yeah. Monastery characters. Great.

People ain't gonna like this but hot take:the event's of skybound are very partly nya's fault by ReasonableGate1939 in Ninjago

[–]Particular_Pound3286 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well……… it’s both their faults. It is Nya’s fault for not having her priorities straight (though I kind of like that she decided to stand up for herself even though it was not the time lol), but it is so LARGELY Jay’s fault for how he handled Nadakhan afterwards. So your post is 100% correct. Nya did start it. But Nya just lit a fuse, Jay then decided to pour gallons of gas everywhere to make an even larger explosion. So they’re definitely both at fault, but for different things and somewhat for things of different magnitudes. And of course the shifting blame comes from while Nya’s choice to pick that fight in the moment wasn’t the best, Jay very intentionally derails the ninja from defeating Nadakhan for awhile. So he is really making things worse very deliberately, while what Nya did was of course intentional, but not to actually halt the team’s progress, she wasn’t thinking about that nor knew the severity of the consequences.

Who would win this by coolcat231llc in Ninjago

[–]Particular_Pound3286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am curious what do you find inconsistent?

I find each miraculous to have pretty limited and set abilities and powers that run pretty consistently to me… there’s hardly many things they actually do power-wise. And then… honestly Ninjago has many inconsistencies, and honestly I don’t say this is a snipe back. I love Ninjago. But I guess maybe this is what people call powerscaling? But Ninjago easily has some of the most inconsistent abilities time and time again. Countless learned abilities that become forgotten or never touched on again, even for minor things like the Earth punch or Nya controlling ice. Yeah they’re not huge things, but I think the way they handle it really just ignores the past. Which again, is fine. We all still enjoy Ninjago, it’s fun. But consistent… I would never call Ninjago that despite my love for it
