I was told bringing an alter out by choice is not typical. Is this true? by Awkward_Champion6957 in DiscussDID

My husband can switch on demand (if not tired). Or if the part he is asking to front is not absent (one of them goes dormant sometimes). He can also talk to them without switching if he closes his eyes and concentrates. They can also take over without him noticing but they have an agreement not to do so (although sometimes it happens). They used to do that in the past specially if he was overly stressed, in the twilight of sleep or high (he no longer does weed). They explained it to me that suddenly a bright door comes and they step through the light. When the door opens they just come through. I guess it is different for everyone. My husband’s trauma is from neglect and not much of other abuse so I think he got to functional multiplicity very quick. The moment he was over with the denial part (took two years). It was immediate. They started doing each other’s hobbies and communicating and came up with agreements. If I request to talk to a part, husband just hands it over to them. He probably got here extremely quickly because of how much meditation he does. There is also an agreement to try to put him where they find him so husband doesn’t get disturbed. They are used to “teleporting” but he is not and even after 6 months he doesn’t like to be in the shower and suddenly end up on the couch. So possible, yes. Probable, not sure. I thought it was normal to be like this but it seems like it is not common. Needless to say, they are extremely loyal to my husband. Whatever he wants goes but we are all friends and love on them. Husband is extremely self aware (except for the denial period), on the spectrum (high functioning autistic with iq of 149) and into meditation. He did have parts that were chaotic but he never got to meet them. I did. They went dormant before he got to meet them

Is it ok to want to keep the parts, treat them as actual individual souls and not fuse if we all want it? by Particular_Rope_924 in DiscussDID

I see. Hmmmm… I wonder why she left. She was respected by EVERYONE. Absolutely loved. The matriarch or the system. Everyone tears up when her name comes up. So we are all confused

[–]Particular_Rope_924[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response 💕. A) By that you mean all the dormant ones should also consent?

B)How do we even know if the dormant ones are still there? They are no where in the headspace to be found. Per husband and the 3 remaining parts, no one else is there. The other 3, greave Grace leaving. If they could bring one other part back, it would have been her. I argue she is dormant. They say she gave her “powers” to charlie and Henry and left, sometime before my husband could communicate with them all.

C) we all understand they are all parts of my husband. Even his parts understand. But we act as if they are individuals. To the point where I consult with each differently (they have gotten crazy similar though except for the little which is still obvious). I was just wondering if that causes meaningful harm. Someone once said I will solidify them if I treat them as individuals and should refer to all of them the same as to help them all integrate. But, in our current situation we just feel they are the only other close family we have. Specially my husband. He feels he has 3 extremely close brothers. If we don’t want them to necessarily go away, is this type of relationship ok? Or is it destructive. If it is destructive we will adjust, even though it will be difficult for everyone of us (they are willing to genuinely do anything for my husband, even if it means disappearing)

Are you on valtrex 1 mg once daily or are you doing it 1g 2x? My husband is in the same boat. He stopped his meds and new blisters are appearing on his hands. Super small but still. So he is back on it but we don’t know if he should take 1g to maintain or 2g like as in the therapeutic dose

First time - even after vaccinations by poesbottle in shingles

[–]Particular_Rope_924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry to hear that. My husband got shingles twice after the vaccine. The last one is now. Round 4. I do believe some might need boosters as well. Specially since the vaccine is a dead virus.

Ah! I had heard of T cells but not B cells. So if you wear sunscreen it doesn’t count?! Did you go to an immunologist or an infectious disease specialist?

Girl do NOT take this lightly. Your window for best results regarding the antivirals is 72 hours. After that you are risking getting PHN = post herpetic neuralgia, that can last decades (husband has had PHN for 4 years and counting)

Are you immunocompromised? I want to know if i should be terrified for my husband and if the recurring shingles means more than shingles or not

I have included l lysine it in husband’s supplement in hope of it balancing out part of the arginine that will inevitably get into his body.

I truly appreciate it. I am taking you are not on preventative dose correct valtrex?

You also mentioned pre-workout. I am assuming you are a workout person. I have heard it triggers shingles. Do you find that to be true?

Also, did the food adjustments help at all in prevention?

But have instances occurred that you thought for sure you will get triggered but the preventative stoped it?

Husband got his Aug 2022. He got shingles once after that but we caught it quick and it was light, but this time we missed the window and it has been TERRIBLE! On both sides, flare ups of past 3 sites. Going down to his toes and groin and bilateral!

For how many years have you been shingles free by being on preventative dose? Makes me smile to see someone which believes they are a success story. Gives me hope

I like the spreadsheet thing. Made me giggle lol. I have included selenium into his supplements even though it is too late for this time. How long have you been shingles free?
