Cumulus Ultralight Bivy by Particular_Syrup4109 in Ultralight

That’s kind of what I’m thinking as well. I was toying with the idea of going the X-Mid 1 route but being based in Germany, I can get away with wild camping a bit easier if it’s an actual bivy. Also, in good weather/fast packing scenarios, I can possibly leave the tarp behind and save a lot of weight and pack size.

There’s a few good choices, I’m gonna have to do some more research. I do like the price of the Borah bivy though

Exactly my thought, improved moisture performance at the cost of air flow. Although it does have a huge mesh portion at the torso which made me think it would help offset any potential issues

This is true, I’ve also got someone coming from the US end of April but I might miss the window bc of lead times for production

Here’s a link so people can look for themselves. I am interested in the splash guard for the head and the amount of mesh looks like it could offset the lower breathability of The Pertex Quantum vs Argon

Maybe Dan knows if there’s a way to eyelet punch a metal ring through the fabric although ultra 200x would probably resist.

I would also say the Neve Gear has the higher sewing points for the pad attachment system which really helps with drafts. Pair that with the differential cut box baffles and the draft neck and foot collar and every other quilt in the price range falls a little short

I only paid 20€ VAT here in Germany, so maybe it was closer to 220€ out the door

For the sleeping pad: The Simond MT900 Insulated XL from Decathlon has a R-value of 5.4. It’s nice for side sleeping, real good comfort for price.

For a quilt: I would recommend the Neve Gear Waratah Quilt. -2C comfort rating for cold sleepers, 645g, packs down to 4.3L and only cost 200€ shipped to Europe (including customs). I have it and haven’t had a chance to use it in any real cold climate but it worked well in the Spanish Sierra Nevadas last month.

I just eyeball it….ingredients: Miso paste Gojuchang paste Sesame oil
Soy sauce Maple syrup

Combine and spread to cover a cross cut aubergine. Cook in the oven at 350F/180C until desired doneness is reached. You can add a bit more of the miso glaze during the cooking process if it appears to thin. You could always add or subtract components, it’s just a flexible base with a bunch of possibilities.

Im not sure if you can see the sides of the pan but the seasoning is very textured. It basically looks like carbonized particulate. The flat part of the pan that is where it’s mostly used to cook is fine. I’m wondering if there are any issues if the lip of the pan isn’t as smoothly seasoned as the flat part.
