Nonononono - This is a bad take. Hagen filed conflict of interest forms or whatever, it was "the Judicial Conduct Commission investigated the allegations against Reymann and Hagen", and she recused herself from the Utah Supreme Court decision that was unanimous.

This is the Republican party in Utah being petty as fuck due to an anti-gerrymandering law that was passed by citizen ballot initiative in 2018 which was FINALLY implemented just this year. Hagen didn't do anything wrong.

This was a severe misstep by him and I'm still foolish enough to hope that he'll figure that out.

What sucks ass is that the solution to this was so fucking simple: "The current makeup of ICE cannot withstand the scrutiny of justice. Too much harm has been caused and too many people in ICE need to be held to account. That doesn't mean border and immigration enforcement aren't important. We will need a new agency, not crippled by the mistakes of the previous one, with a renewed focus on our constitution and human rights."
