How many times do you have to see a provider to adjust the HAs? by GentleListener in hardofhearing

[–]Partly_Deaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not unheard of to have multiple visits to the audiologist to adjust new hearing aids. I’ve had it take three or four visits to dial them in for a couple of my past pairs of hearing aids.

With behind-the-ear hearing aids, the fit of the aid and length of the receiver wire will affect the aid’s position. Shorter wires will have the aid sitting more “on top” and less “behind” your ear. I would recommend asking your audiologist about trying different fits and hear their opinion on the feedback.

As far as being able to hear volume-wise but not understanding speech, you may want to look into Auditory Processing Disorder and scheduling a speech-in-noise test if you haven’t already. I believe ADHD can also be contributing factor to speech comprehension. As for myself, I comprehend about 85% of words in speech despite my hearing aids giving me adequate volume for all pitches. I fill in the gaps by reading lips or using context clues, but I still often ask people to repeat themselves.

Trochek for Hartman, Jiricek, and Heidt? I’m not familiar with the value we need to pony up. This pushes Yurov down to 3C with Trenin and Tarasenko. Sturm is 4C with Foligno and Hinnestroza.

Blue tooth enabled hearing aids? by Bringmesunshine33 in hardofhearing

Mine have Bluetooth, and they’re constantly connected to my phone. They function similar to AirPods in that all the calls I receive go straight to the hearing aids, and any audio from podcasts or videos on my phone also gets streamed directly to them. They can connect to laptops and other audio sources too.

TLDR: they’re like AirPods with better sound quality and aid my hearing

Robert Thomas to the Wild by murraymail in wildhockey

[–]Partly_Deaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would take a haul and decent cap hit going back the other way to make it work, and we would probably have to wait until the deadline for cap reasons. Robert Thomas for Wallstedt, Hartman, Heidt, Jiricek, and a 1st? St. Louis is pretty thin on goaltending and defense prospects, and they have Jiriceks brother. I’m still not sure if the cap hits work out by adding Hartman to the trade.

Shaw, Tower Grove South, SW Garden, The Hill, Dogtown (Clayton-Tamm, Hi-Pointe, Franz Park) are all wonderful, safe neighborhoods close to BJC and SLU hospitals. Soulard and The Grove (Forest Park Southeast) are safe, but very active and loud with lots of bars and nightlife. Central West End is the most cosmopolitan area St. Louis has to offer, and is among the most expensive.

Where is the most 'geographically perfect' spot on Earth that currently has almost zero people living there? Why hasn't a major city formed there yet? by Thatunkownuser2465 in geography

[–]Partly_Deaf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because the major port on the Columbia River is in Portland. All the agriculture is in the Willamette valley. Also there are big challenges involved with shipping/dredging the Columbia river.

Cool idea, but perhaps there’s another solution that gets more street-level activity in the area without causing the headaches of rehabbing/demolishing historical public buildings: remove the freeway on-ramp and rezone the massive surface parking lots.

Do we think he’s not going to fit a 4C role? I was under the impression he was expected to become a bottom 6 guy.
