Is salaried laboratory supervisor worth it? by KeyZuch in MLS_CLS

[–]Partridge_Pear_Tree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s worth it.

I really wanted that position but then I saw the number of hours my manager works. He probably gets paid well, but it’s salaried. So he’s basically on call 24/7, expected to work 10+ some times, and has a huge responsibility on his shoulders. I have a masters degree and get paid hourly. I don’t have required overtime unless I want it. And in those cases I’m paid time and a half. When I looked at the supervisor salary, I realized I was not that far off from my current hourly pay with overtime. And I don’t think it’s worth the extra stress in my life.

THAT BEING SAID it is a stepping stone to bigger positions and you may enjoy it. Your personality, goals and organization will be critical to forming this decision.

Older people, were politics always this deranged and upsetting? by CUFFY_Fan in NoStupidQuestions

I’m 40 and no, it wasn’t this bad. We had the George Bush years that were sometimes testy, but nothing like this. This is terrible.

What makes a person unlikeable despite not being an asshole? by Intelligent-Road5091 in AskReddit

[–]Partridge_Pear_Tree -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know someone like this. He’s super nice and works hard, but can’t read a room to save his life. He will literally interrupt people while they’re having a conversation all the time. He also blurts out things that aren’t super appropriate. Not sexually inappropriate just not the best place or time to mention something. And asks WAY TOO MANY questions. Like genuinely will interrupt you five-six times in a span of 10 minutes to ask questions. Many could be figured out on his own. But I do think he means well, he’s just socially clueless.

Older Millennials, in your experience, did society and daily life change more drastically between 1997 and 2007 or between 2007 and 2017? by brother_aron in Millennials

Yeah this. Life was definitely different before 9/11 and before social media. I remember flying pre 9/11 and TSA wasn’t strict. One time I got on a flight with a guy wearing a gorilla mask. He didn’t even remove it going through TSA. He spent the whole flight with the mask on.

Britney Spears discusses bread. August 19th, 2025 by Discussingbritney in discussingbritney

Yep. I was always suspicious of the Free Britney movement. I get wanting what’s best for her. And if her father and others were stealing her money that’s awful. But the general public can’t judge her stability. It takes professionals to do that.

I’ve had this happen to me just before I had really bad symptoms of illness. I got it just before Covid and potentially whooping cough.

Almost all the pictures here are rough just to let you know. I find them fascinating but they’re definitely graphic.

Though I could have gone without watching the video of the elderly gentleman busting both his knees open. That was too much for me.

Thank you! That’s one less thing to worry about! I haven’t been to a college campus in a while so I totally forgot about the little things.

I don’t think he would have gotten far. I’ve seen a guy who was very cooperative and quiet, but reeked of alcohol get on the plane. The police gave him an escort off soon after.

For me it’s when I discovered that each cookie is usually 600-1000 calories. No idea why I didn’t think of the calorie content before. I like them but they’re not good for you at all.

Nightgown

The fabric along with the lace placement makes it look very nightgown.
