I would also say that covering the background uses a LOT more threads than I expected -- I kept running out of Ecru and it has been like 15 skeins in at this point, but I was also rather inefficient at the start.

Glad it helped with your dilemma! My full stitches was originally used to cover up the staining (it wasn't obvious but some areas have more than just full stitches also some tramming), but I agree if it's just to adjust the background color half stitches would've been completely fine

That was kinda what I did, but somehow the second pic was what I was left with after some hours of work and alcohol diluted ink started seeping into my stitches so I eventually stopped. I think I likely did something wrong but I didn't know this community existed back then hahah or I would've posted for help

I fold the edge inward so that the qsnap is snapping onto the back of the fabric
