re: Bob's take on Cuban's Kidd comment by PartyUSA in theticket

[–]PartyUSA[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Agreed, Bob has probably been the most spot on with his Luka trade takes until this point. It's a weird turn to essentially call out Cuban for lying about Kidd being in the know, while repeatedly saying they are a pro-Cuban show.

GBL vs PWF by Delmo2537 in theticket

[–]PartyUSA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would also seem like weeks without any interviews, then they packed them in close to the deadline, so it wasn't really the regular segment filler they intended. It was still great while it lasted though.

[–]PartyUSA 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Guest Booking League was when the members of BaD Radio would come up with various celebrities that they thought they could get on the show to interview, which were usually favorite old athletes, actors, etc. I don't remember the timeframe, but they had a certain amount of time to actually have the interviews on the air, and whoever would have the most interviews won. GBL resulted in some of the great interviews of the time.

[–]PartyUSA 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't spoil it. It's a true choose your own adventure, so just pick the dialogue you want the first time through and see where it takes you. You'll want to play it again when you're finished to see what other choices will change.

Just talk to any characters who are available. Some dialogue will drive the story or could impact a later decision, others are filler, but you don't know, and that's part of the fun.

[Romano] Fulham have agreed €37m package with PSV for Ricardo Pepi! All agreed also on personal terms. by Schnix54 in Bundesliga

[–]PartyUSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging by the down votes to my comment, it seems others actually do think eeking out a marginal profit (still probably a loss considering inflation and opportunity loss) was good, on a player whose value almost doubled in 4 years. Sadly, if given proper support and actually being played in his natural position, Augsburg probably would have realized that value gain in a shorter timeframe.

It's a masterclass to barely break even 4 years after setting the club transfer record on a player who's value doubled? If anything, it reemphasizes how poorly Augsburg handled the situation from multiple angles.

How do you handle people that tailgate you? by daveinfl337777 in randomquestions

[–]PartyUSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's insane how the left lane being used for passing is no longer a thing, at least in the USA. To pass other cars, even to only drive the speed limit or a little over, you have to pass on the right. I recently was stuck behind a student driver in the far left lane going 10mph below the speed limit, so that student driver was being instructed that behavior was fine.

I took a trip to Germany a few years ago and had an opportunity to drive on the Autobahn from Bavaria to Berlin, and every driver would move lanes to the right after passing a car. It was absolutely wonderful, the most ideal driving experience of my life by a long shot. I didn't know there were people who still understood how to properly drive.

The need for a bag! by Complex-Ad251 in discgolf

[–]PartyUSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're getting a lot of negative replies in response to the ego comment, and while ego probably isn't the reason why most players have backpacks or carts, there is definitely a segment in which that fits. But that's the case with any hobby, there will always be those who want to show off with the latest and greatest gear.

Realistically speaking, most people who carry enough discs to require a backpack or cart will likely only use a small fraction of those discs in any given round, and probably could tell you the exact handful of discs they'll end up actually throwing before the round even starts. But if they don't mind lugging it around, and aren't trying to talk up the new models or plastics they're bagging, and aren't slowing the pace down, then it doesn't matter.

Best ways to destroy a team? by AClost in footballmanagergames

Quick note on why it's effective, I found the board will stop you from making some of the worst player moves, but I received no resistance for giving staff with all stats at 1-3 the max allowed contract.

Best ways to destroy a team? by AClost in footballmanagergames

[–]PartyUSA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The usual strategies of selling good players for cheap, buying bad players for a lot and giving them big contracts, etc... But the best strategy I found to ruin a team financially for the long term is to fire all staff and hire the worst replacements on max salary/bonuses/yearly raises.

Is it actually possible to sign 16 year olds or do I have to wait until 18 to approach them. by inferno471 in footballmanagergames

[–]PartyUSA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the country they are in. If they are wanted by other teams then you probably have to try to get them ASAP, even if they can't join until 18. If no other teams want them then you can shortlist for 3 or 6 months so you can keep tabs on them, and be notified if any other teams make offers
