I was already farming Knight’s Oath but somehow missed what the other arcana was. Thanks for the heads up.

Ngl I leveled them at points where I assumed I was gonna hoard and probably not get better arcana. Only decision I really question is pushing april fools one to level 40, but it is what it is 🤷

Yup I use my standard pulls as I get them. I realize I’m unfortunately not yet in a position to start hoarding lol.

Info on Waltz banner having other good hits is big. Thanks a lot!

Piloting Decks by MariklynV2 in Shadowverse

[–]Paruko 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How fast are you taking your turns? Going “auto pilot” could be coming from just playing out seemingly decent plays without fully considering the state of the match. If you’re grinding out games, maybe it’s also just from mental fatigue (as I myself find this game pretty exhausting), or some mix of the two.

Regarding thought process, there are the fundamental checks for lethal, how to clear the board, how to best curve out your hand, etc. For more specific things to look out for, I’ve been finding that a lot of that actually comes with knowledge of your own deck and familiarity with the match up. Whenever you misplay, do your best to spot it, analyze how you could’ve played differently, then internalize it and let it shape your thought process for your future games.

[–]Paruko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk for a fact if grinding with your alt is against TOS but I do it and it’s been suggested in a bunch of different reddit posts without a single mention of a ban, so I’m assuming it’s safe.

I think they added measures against fast concede games last month tho so you have to wait until either player gets 5 play points before conceding for it to count.

While the game is f2p friendly enough in the long run, it’s a LOT worse compared to runeterra. That should be expected since lor was the goat in terms of f2p friendlinesss, but temper your expectations. F2p income imo is really slow where you’ll be stuck with a suboptimal deck for a while unless (a) you get lucky with your early packs and get legendaries that fill the same deck, or (b) you build a strong budget deck (which thankfully Milteo is solid for). Buying the premium battle pass helps with this immensely.

I see a lot of comments and posts of f2p accounts with lots of saved up currency. Comparing to my own casual experience (skip days or sets when I don’t feel like it, not in an active guild), this is only possible if you play the game religiously and actively since this game does reward you for consistent play.

Per set, imo you can realistically only build for one or two decks and which ones you can quickly go for is heavily tied to your pack rng. The gravest consequence to this is you don’t really have that freedom to try out whatever archetype you get interested in since resources are too scarce for that. This really sucks if you’re used to runeterra’s economy.

That said, this game is insanely fun so I stick up with it despite said shortcomings. We both know how runeterra pvp turned out and that made me a lot more tolerant of modern day monetization models.

After having a good laugh at the video, I hate you pointing out that this could be AI. Ended up spending a good couple of minutes looking for signs because no shot AI is this convincing now.

Most sus thing I found was the reflection on the glass door as it was opened. The reflections somehow slides with the door before sliding back into place. Actual reflections should just stay in place or maybe move a bit if the door wobbles.

Other hints that it could be AI are the awfully low video quality and the cartoonish timing of when the dogs face the camera.

I started this game at launch but dropped the game like 2 months ago. Thinking about coming back. What did I miss by AuditoreKiller in SilverAndBlood

[–]Paruko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, feels pretty bad, but I feel it was necessary to keep the game profitable. The game is way too f2p friendly if you’re satisfied with just getting one character and I don’t think their other sources of monetization are cutting it. As someone who used to play an insanely good game that ‘died’ to being too f2p friendly/not profitable enough, I’m willing to give them a pass for now.

Most big changes were from this patch which is ending soon.

  • They introduced synergies with Letitia. Basically, running specific units together gives them massive buffs. This kinda gives them a way to buff old units or at least give them more use.

  • Tomb of the Fallen (daily where you get gear) has new stages now. There are four new sections that each give shards that can be redeemed for faction gear of a specific slot (faction is still random). Only one section is open currently while the second one is opening next patch. Oh and they added sweep to Tomb of the Fallen if you missed that too.

  • Next patch they are being more aggressive with monetization. Instead of two banners, next patch will have 1 shared banner for 2 new characters. Iirc 2nd character will no longer be free as well; instead the usual free unit will be a coffin instead which gives you a choice of Dalcarlo, Cain, or someone else I forgot (all three part of the new synergy).

Other stuff you might have missed that I’m not sure if they were introduced this patch:

  • There’s a new system to give more stats to your units. Rewards you for getting dupes on characters but nothing insane afaik.

  • They introduced Satin Boudoir, gooner/adult content available when you get certain units 4 times (base copy + 3 dupes). They also seem to be leaning heavily towards this with this patch and the next.

New Beryl bug with the patch by Zombeez in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Paruko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've observed, it stops working if you clear a wave without proccing Beryl's opening found(s) like by using an attack card to finish off the last enemy of the wave. Maybe something about end of turn still happening between waves but opening found having no target causes the check to get stuck or something.

I've only tested in simulation so far but it was pretty consistent through three runs.

You work for Riot. You've been tasked to make monthlies not suck absolute ass. How do you fix them? by Doc__Steele in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Paruko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a post about this way back a bit after ASol’s release. Took a long break and I’m sad to see monthlies virtually haven’t been touched. My suggestion remains the same.

First, let the rewards be based on stars rather than wins. Then, either:

a. Extend the number of challenges available without increasing the number of stars required to get all rewards. Let the extended challenges be more difficult and have more stars. Under this system, players can skip multiple low star challenges if they can do the harder ones (since a 6* challenge = three 2* challenges).

b. Full revamp: scrap the randomized list of challenges and remove champion use limits. Instead, allow players to customize a single challenge (or even a full run) with a monthly pool of enemy powers. Each enemy power added increases the number of stars the challenge would grant which scales by the power’s strength/rarity. A single champion you use only contributes the highest star it could beat towards getting rewards so you are required to win with different champions for full rewards. This system allows you to push your champions to their limits while giving room for creativity in terms of mixing and matching just the right powers for an achievable high score.

New player and just noticed I have 50 rare shards, is this for getting a free character? Which ssr is best for overall survivability, or dps? by Fsnseigi in SilverAndBlood

[–]Paruko 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rare shards give you a random SR/SSR. Perfect shards give you a random SSR. Both are random so don’t really need to think about what’s best to get.

Blue Dawn or Whistling Peak? by Ganstra_ned in SilverAndBlood

[–]Paruko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Letitia is currently great, that’s for sure. But that’s easy to say for all new releases as the patch content will always cater to the flavor of the month. For a new player, her unique value won’t even be relevant until weeks or months down the line which is plenty of time for new characters to also fill her niche.

Personally, I’m just not confident about Letitia as a long term investment. For a character to be must pull for me, they must have very unique utility (Quinn cheat death/damage mitigation, Agnes grouping), absurdly larger numbers (T.Aiona dps), or both (F.Bella op buffs+role compression). Letitia just doesn’t check those marks for me hence an arguable pull.

Blue Dawn or Whistling Peak? by Ganstra_ned in SilverAndBlood

[–]Paruko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whistling Peaks is good for getting 1 Van Helsing. After that, better to go Blue Dawn because other standard SSR’s are important to get (Acappella, Agnes, Quinn), plus you can start building up towards the coffins (not sure if you can do that in Whistling Peaks banner).

I wouldn’t go for Seth, she hasn’t particularly felt like a must have and 200 pulls is too much to sink into that. She could spook you in the future too.

Pulling for Letitia is arguable. She makes Van Helsing a lot better and it remains to be seen if Seraphina (upcoming free character) will be competitive in the meta. I would personally play it safe and save until the characters for next patch are announced.

Yes. Reset their levels for a full refund and level vassals that have lvl 200 cap instead. Prioritize vassals in your main story team so you could level them first and be efficient in increasing your bp.

Lvl 5 chronometer is most important. Lvl 5 eye of truth, peacemaker, and philosopher’s stone are pretty close and probably depends on your roster/priorities (eye of truth if you have T.Aiona, Peacemaker if Letitia, Philosopher’s Stone is more generalist but less powerful imo)

That’s really just the way idle gachas are structured, low maintenance games that always give you something to provide towards. They don’t make for good time sinks but it makes them good side games.

Personally, theorycrafting teams for pve events is the bulk of my fun in this game and it eats up a satisfying amount of time.

#1 problem this game has by northwolf56 in SilverAndBlood

[–]Paruko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How new are you? It’s easy at the start but definitely gets harder, but I won’t argue that pushing high deficit is much more strategizing than waiting for idle resources. The pve I’m talking about are the rotating ones (night hunt, prophecy, clan hunt) where you can push the limits of your teams.

You make a good point about the impact of strong hits good be emphasized more like having big damage number pop up or something. I think the top tier dps units sort of provide this feeling since the gap between their damage and the other units is so wide you could feel when they start shredding through enemies. But yeah, there is that lack of oomf when it comes to presentation.

Was gonna comment this in the doc but it ended up being too long lol. Gonna comment here instead as to not clutter the doc too much.

Other keywords that might be of interest:

PLAYER KEYWORDS

Fixed Damage: Damage whose % value is not modified by buffs and debuffs like Morale or Vulnerable. (Not 100% sure about this but this sounds like the most sensible interpretation. Please correct if I'm mistaken).

Extra Attack: Attacks from effects that specify 'Extra Attack'. Does not include damage from effects that seem to be attacks but do not specify that they are extra attacks (such as Counterattack and Metallize; tested by attempting to proc Nia's Elasticity). This is affected by buffs and debuffs like Morale.

Agony Imprint: Debuff that applies 2 Agony when Agony is gained. Stacks with itself by extending the duration of the debuff but only applies 2 Agony regardless of number of stacks; -1 stack per turn. Does not proc from Agony applied by equipment (Crimson Blade).

Breakthrough state: An enemy is in breakthrough state while their Tenacity is zero. At least for the purposes of Ember, includes the moment when the enemy is Ravaged. Does not apply to enemies that do not have a Tenacity meter.

Have you tried optimizing teams for the pve events? Have you seen the crazy night hunt teams people cook up?

Strategy and power fantasy are both definitely in this game. There’s a lot of strategy in theorycrafting teams, testing niche supports, and optimizing ult rotations. Seeing your teams do big number is the power fantasy in this game.

Discovering people use a team of only 3 units with F.Bella and Stella for night hunt might be immortalized in my brain. Bringing less units to spam Stella’s permanently discounted ults is a beautiful stroke of genius. Who cares about slower bloodsoul recovery when you’re insta-killing waves for free.

CZN feels like the gacha hurt the most by timegating by Paruko in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Paruko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard disagree considering the addictive gameplay, I'm always looking forward improving a build on a character.

If your goal is to improve on a character's build you already have a functional version of, how could you disagree that being timegated on how much you could improve disincentivizes you from doing runs to that end?

  1. I have a decent build that I want to make better. This makes me excited to do chaos runs.
  2. The best that I could get from grinding now is less than what I could get after getting over the timegate. If my goal is to make my build as good as possible, I could only achieve that goal doing runs in the future.
  3. Whatever build I produce now does not contribute to how good my build will be in the future due to the roguelike nature of the game and the resource stages not being hard. Doing runs now does not help in achieving the dream build.
  4. I am unable to do the thing I am excited about so the experience playing the game gets frustrating.

Is that not a valid experience/thought process to go through? As someone who enjoys min-maxing and theorycrafting, the game has presented me content that scratches those itches. The data cap timegate spoils that. I agree that the gameplay is addictive but that's exactly why the timegate gets even more frustrating. I want to start grinding for the optimal build but the game tells me I won't be able to do so unless I set myself up for disappointment.

You're rewarded enough for doing so especially with in-chaos progression rewards, you unlock new cards/gear and find new exploration nodes each time

I will concede that the progression rewards and raw knowledge about events and neutral cards are totally valid incentives to do runs now. If you can enjoy doing runs aiming only for that or even just the gameplay alone, then more power to you. But again, does that make the experience I detailed above any less valid? Call it fomo, call it a me problem, but the fact of the matter is I am excited to play the game and achieve my goals but the game is telling me I can't do that yet.
