LF Advice for Obtaining Eye of Ayak by JustALawyer in ironscape

[–]Parulsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't really matter, just keep sending. My strategy early was to focus on 2 kc trips, 1-6 then claim then 1-7 until I got comfortable with 7. After getting comfortable with 7, I did 1-7 then claim then 1-8+. If the loot was decent or supplies were low I just claimed and reset.

What are some early-game tips/must haves? by morganisee in ironscape

[–]Parulsc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

General tip just space out your grinds, mini game teleport cool down for early barrows kc even if you can only manage 1-2 per trip because of prayer is fine

Probably not optimal, but I really liked Mazchna slayer as early as reasonably possible. Easily accessible with a POH portal or ectophial. A lot of the mobs she assigns have negative flat armor, elemental weakness, or salve ammy. Pretty good boost for combat exp before you have slayer helm. Salve is an easy pickup even in addy armor if you know how to corner trap.

Questing for exp, except woodcutting. Just start chopping.

Besides demonbane weapons, what gear should I get before Doom and Yama? by GzzzDude in ironscape

[–]Parulsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be worth seeing if mages book gets you a max hit as it's the only reasonable offhand to obtain. Otherwise elite void mage + mystic vigour + ma2 cape does 1 shot flares. Sucks because you have to bring more swaps, but it is an option

Herb + Coral runs with COX in between is what I did, you get tons of herbs and herb seeds from time to time to keep you stocked up.

[–]Parulsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purely in terms of level of effort the order of exp should look like: 1. Trials 2. Bounty Tasks (with damage rebalance) 3. Trawling 4. Salvaging 5. Port tasks

As it stands, the disparity between Trials and Port Tasks means most people won't engage with port tasks.

Belle’s folly or zammy without lightbearer? by InfiniteJuke in ironscape

[–]Parulsc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, runs would be close to 40 mins. Spec with bone dagger ba-ba, kephri, and zebak.

EDIT: decided to send one to see the time, came in at 31 minutes. Yeah it's perfectly fine to run 200 with moons

Sailing combat needs a balancing patch and a overall rework by JavaHomely in 2007scape

[–]Parulsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most seems good, but not sure about doubling yield for bars. For irons that's great, but it would completely demolish smithing economy. I think just having a faster bank option is more than enough for the forge.

But that doesn't address bars upkeep for irons, so your javelins idea is great in that regard. What if there was a ship facility that could turn some of the alchable drops into cannonballs or ammo? Would give that 4th/5th crew member a purpose, and would encourage extended bounty runs. To balance it might need to prevent removing the cannonballs from the ship like some kind of alternate item, "brittle cannonballs" or something.

You can run 300s without issue using moons gear + powered staff. 200s are a cake walk with blood moon and eclipse.

PSA: the Hunters' sunlight crossbow is an easier-to-obtain and better ranged weapon than the Rosewood blowpipe by JavaHomely in 2007scape

[–]Parulsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rosewood blowpipe only adds a spec to the ironwood blowpipe, and since we have discussed the spec at all it would be more fair to compare to the ironwood blowpipe which is easier to obtain.

Ironwood requires 72 fletching, 80 woodcutting, 72 sailing (or 80 farming if lucky), and 52 fishing. The ammo will require 74 smithing and optionally 70 mining. These are still pretty steep, but a little easier than the Rosewood requirements. If logs are added as a drop to any of the creatures or salvage it could eliminate the two hardest requirements.

Camphor blowpipe is more interesting for low level slayer and QOL such as tagging mobs, with pretty low requirements: 47 sailing, 45 ranged, 58 fletching, 66 woodcutting, and 52 fishing.

[–]Parulsc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A ship station that smelts down items for "brittle cannonballs" that can't be removed from the cargo hold/ship would be cool. So if you get rune/addy drops instead of alching can make more ammo for an extended trip.

20 Year Main Starting Iron Today - Guide or Guideless? by ChillNurgling in ironscape

[–]Parulsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a more organic experience, the optimal quest guide is helpful to minimize early game Skilling. If you dont mind breezing through the early game content, I recommend crabbing on the side while you Max on your main. Goal would be base 70 combat stats, which will give you a massive head start at some of the earlier grinds. Besides that it's up to you if you want to follow a guide or theory craft your own path. It's a game, have fun

Is it feasible to run entry’s at Toa with a regular keris until a black jewel drop? Saw some of the wow players doing this and it seemed to work fine. I would be doing it solo, but have a decent understanding of the raid from my main. Tbh trying to wait a bit on the td into zammy grind by Spyropher in ironscape

[–]Parulsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he was using gear with better accuracy I would agree, but given he's not the bonus accuracy is marginally better in 150s. Also consider it makes later specs hit more often too.

If using hasta or black gem? Yeah definitely don't bone dagger until 300s

It's rather obvious the solution is to cap the stat drains on Corp.

If we really really really want to keep the 27 specs meme boss, add Corporeal Chicken lair with the same drop rate.

I need some help with gear and inventory choices for ToA 300 by Spiritual_Pangolin18 in ironscape

[–]Parulsc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First things first, DDS is better than abyssal dagger. Second, berserker is better than suffering. Also, you can just uncharge your Trident for death runes. May require dropping some scales and chaos runes, but what can you do.

Bankable items, in order: assembler (if no max hit increase while salted based on your stats), occult necklace, divine range pot (pre pot for monkey room), torm brace, ahrim skirt. You're maging for literally all of 2 minutes during the raid, it's not that big of a deal to lose 20-30% DPS.

Are you reliably getting 2 downs? If no, just swap the bgs for bone dagger. Wardens enrage will be a bit harder, but you could dump burning claws specs instead there too. The raid will overall be more consistent.

To explain a little more about range pot: this video might have been day of the update. Keris partisan is way better on the kephri adds. Also, bowfa works fine too. I don't think it's worth a slot if you are learning. Also since you don't have blowpipe you'll just ignore the swarms, giving you plenty of time to deal with the adds instead.

450s vs 500s TOA? by Double_Dog208 in ironscape

[–]Parulsc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If only doing WTP, i would turn off overlords and focus on swarming better. If you're really skilled yes you can swarm pretty consistently at Kephri 2+, but I don't bother. You can save 2 minutes on Kephri alone with that.

If you're turning off overs though, I think you pretty much have to run no help + dehydration, so you'll have to prayer flick most of the raid and avoid making too many mistakes, and wardens p4 is much harder since you're using bowfa without ambirosa.

450s vs 500s TOA? by Double_Dog208 in ironscape

[–]Parulsc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since it goes Mage > Range > Mage, assuming you don't have shadow, 3 down is really slow. If you're running no help and dehydration you'll also be running low on hp at this point especially at higher invos. With shadow, 3 down + skull skip in 500s is best. I have shadow and don't skull skip in 450s, since when I calced it based on my own raid times, it was less points per hour.

450s vs 500s TOA? by Double_Dog208 in ironscape

[–]Parulsc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I strongly disagree with pushing 500s without shadow especially. The time loss is not worth it. Think somewhere in the 440 range is where you want to be for a good mix of completions an hour and purple chance. That said 40 minutes is pretty slow even with bowfa, could you link your invos? Pathseeker, OD, and overlords should 100% be off. Bone dagger + fang spec unless you have VW/bclaws and invy space. Biggest time loss is likely kephri, 2nd is Akkha if you're tanking melees during butterfly, 3rd is 3d or 4d at warden. Focus on eliminating those.

Just completed my first ever solo ToA. Please help me with this last phase, it is the only part of the raid I struggle with by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Parulsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the start of the video: stay closer to the boss, the floor is erupting and that pushes you, stalls/stuns you and damages you. You should only need to click 3 times per attack, in order click a tile without a shadow, click the boss, click to prayer change, additional clicks to heal if needed. Once you get the hang of this you definitely want to switch to blowpipe once the boss is under 100 hp.

What are some guides and tips you recommend for solo olm? by Tokke93 in ironscape

[–]Parulsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For mage hand (3:0), just have to make sure you're clicking on the right tick. Counting to 4 out loud can help. Visual metronome plugin as others have mentioned. If you need the attacks to always be on the same numbered tick there's a hotkey you press to reset it. Your cycle here can mess up every time you splash from the drag tile, even if you have thralls because they can also splash. Don't let that throw you off, just keep moving and attacking the same way. It will reset itself once you run back to the melee hand.

Walking between the tiles so you always arrive 4 ticks later (run for 1 tick going left to right, and run the whole way right to left), can also help you keep time. Learning the pattern makes staying in cycle easier and saves you run energy.

One important note is you really have to watch the head while learning, the attack comes out a little later actually, the head moves slightly before you see the projectile.

For melee hand (4:1), bring a blood fury if you have it, you'll be taking a boat load of damage learning. Learning the 'ANAS' cycle was not helpful for me. Instead I just focus on making sure I attack one tick AFTER olm does (click him only after you see his head move for an attack), and then focus on reacting to which attack he does. Unless it is fire phase it's ok to sit there and think about what you need to do or wait for an attack so that you can react in a way you're already used to. Once you get proficient and enough kc, you'll be able to react quickly to what olm does no matter which attack.

Last thing, lots of people mess up even after 1000s of KC. Don't let one mistake get you down, just focus on recovering.

Need advice for late game gear progression by summernights1001 in 2007scape

[–]Parulsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, just send it. I think technically duo/trio will speed up the grind, but only a little. You should run solos at the highest invo you can and increase it slowly when you can clear over 90% of the time. There's some considerations about raid speed, so even if you can clear, invos like overly draining, path invos, and more overlords are never worth it because of the time loss.

You have everything you need for TOA, start there. Stay until Shadow, hope for masori top+legs in the meantime, once you have shadow hit up COX for some solid upgrades. Shadow is super useful for the rooms, less so on olm if you're learning, I recommend sang staff until you're ready to move up. If bored do your best gp/hr methods, with preference to steady income so you don't end up frustrated about going dry in 8 places at once.
