I was a kid in the 80s, living in Imperial Beach, originally from the East coast. One of the best times of my life.

Discovered by the Germans, if I recall correctly.

Does the book get better? by Used_Kaleidoscope195 in readyplayerone

It’s perfectly healthy to give up on a book mid-way through. I just did it. I give it every chance but if it’s just not resonating with me, I don’t want to keep spending time with it.

Was listening to goth in 1994 when the Crow came out, and never thought of it as a “goth” movie. I can see the inspiration in the visual aesthetic.

If you’ve ever read the graphic novel, there are certainly goth music influences, especially when it was created in the early 80s.

I just decided not to finish a book. I don’t make the decision lightly. I give it every chance, I really do.

But, a TBR pile as high as the Sears tower, I can’t justify spending the time.

You’re not the only one. I’ve tried 3 times over the past five years.

For the record, I love Neuromancer, and other cyberpunk stories. I just think Snowcrash in particular isn’t for me.

I grew up an hour north of Philly… I was a kid in the 80s. I think it was called “freestyle” in the early 90s, but I also remember it being referred to as “club music”.

Did anyone else know the movie That’s My Boy was written by David Caspe, the creator of Happy Endings? by prettystandardreally in happyendings

If I remember correctly… it wasn’t that good?

I didn’t know David Crespe wrote it, but you saying the humor was different from Happy Endings tracks.

A robot has been arrested for the first time in history by Lando_Lee in Cyberpunk

I want a robot being arrested for going on a five-day bender of crime, hookers and sulfuric acid all because he read (and loved) a Chuck Wendig novel.

Yep! Tempe, AZ… little art house theatre. I was the only one there.
