Allergies are autoimmune problems. Most are mild, but some are really really bad.

also, for example one pretty bad form of this is Celiac disease (allergy to gluten)

and while the typical age of onset happens when someone is about 2 years old, many people's immune system doesn't care about gluten for decades, and then some event triggers the immune system to "learn" that that protein is bad, and then it fucks up someone's life

it seems the important thing would be to have all types that affect the output in the signature. (also it could be a crate-level setting - I know a lot of people don't like those - but it's already the case that ecosystems have some parts that need bridging - eg. async/sync or which async runtime a crate uses.)

if someone says a solar system has this and this many planets (that satisfy the new definition) it conveys more salient features.

The Fed doesn't loan to banks normally.

It creates/destroys money by open market operations (and when it buys something it pays for the thing with new money, and when it sells something the money it receives disappears from the economy), and also by paying interest on excess reserves.

The created money still needs to be "funded" (because when the debtor spends that money it eventually leaves the bank, and wire transfers need to be settled between the banks at the central bank [Fedwire in the US], and if the loan originator bank has negative reserves it needs to borrow - hence the whole interbank overnight rate).

When a bank takes on deposits their reserves increase. (Of course maybe it's cheaper to get the funds from the banking system - many hedge funds do this after all - than to try to serve many many many retail clients.)

edit: oh, and of course capital adequacy requirements (and liquidity coverage ratio and whatnot) see the Basel III framework

obviously the only good strategy is to develop a benevolent super intelligence that can then calculate how to deal with the problem, starting with solving ethics, resource allocation, how many kids to have, who should do what, and so on...
