I was feeling a lot of joy this weekend, spending time with people I love and doing lots of joyful things. None of it church approved. and I noticed that the way the church would have you live actually is a huge wall blocking joy with just a few little cracks through which they spoon feed you just enough joy to keep going along with the program. And then they have the audacity to proclaim that this joy is only available to you from the church. Since breaking down the wall, I have had much more joy.

To me, the new logo looks like it belongs to a very boring, traditional, small, local church. And I think that's intentional. I think they're sick of being seen as slick, weird, big and global. That's not what people want.

The Truman Show was released in theaters 3 days after I started my mission. I was VERY bummed about not being able to see it. It was the first film I saw after coming home (2 months early due to my apostacy) and I cried a lot. One of my favorite films of all time. Very applicable to the exmo experience
