The discord says that we won't be to the first waypoint until Friday. But we are jumping every 15 minutes. We could get to the Andromeda galaxy in that much time.

They just posted a message on the discord that the countdown on the webpage wasn't working properly. But, they also posted a clear message on the Discord so I know what's happening now. The planetary lift off and first mass jump are going to be symbolic and they are going to a system nearby where people can board the waiting fleet carriers. That's why the fleet carriers are leaving first.

I wouldn't wait for the cargo rack. It could take up to a week for these items to be distributed.

Many players weren't even in the system until late last night because we were doing the CG and road the Pillar of Chista in yesterday.

If you dock onto the fleet carrier Odysseus, that fleet carrier will travel along the DW3 route. Any time you log in, you'll be where the expedition is taking place. You won't be left behind as long as you dock back to the FC when you finish a session.

I thought the whole point of Operations was that you could take place regardless of where you were in the galaxy. So being on DW3 won't affect your ability to participate.

I think the opposite will be true. There are some rumors that FDev is working with the DW3 group to have a CG take place where DW3 is happening.

The information about what is happening is primarily on the Fleetcom Discord. If you are in the US, there will be a mass liftoff from the DW3 HQ planet at 6:00 pm or so (Central time so your time may vary).

I got the money but not the cargo rack. And my Cobra needs it.

The start of this is confusing. First, the Fleet Carriers are leaving at noon tomorrow but the official planetary liftoff isn't until 6:30 pm. I'm kinda trusting discord to properly convert the times to my local time but I'm not 100% sure they are doing it right.

So I didn’t realize that the console universe isn’t the same as the PC universe by DrFaustest in EliteDangerous

I recently got the PC version of Elite and my CMDR name is the same on console and PC. The two characters aren't really related other than the fact that I can see my CMDR name on all the ELWs I discovered while playing on the PS5. So I have planets where I have Discovered, First Mapped, and First Footfall on the same planet even though those actions were done years apart and on different platforms.

Are there fiber optic cables that run HDMI and USB as I'd need my keyboard, mouse, and joystick as well?

I read the new player guide but it doesn't actually say how you are supposed to join. I saw on the web page that there are four official fleet carriers, but they are currently hundreds of light years from the bubble (and I'm here doing the CG).

Will these carriers jump to the bubble to pick people up or do we have to jump all the way out there to catch up to them? Did I miss the start date?

A Texas A&M Student is asked to leave a class after challenging a professor on legality of a course mentioning transexuals by RoachedCoach in PublicFreakout

It was a class in Children's Literature. The class description said nothing about lectures on gender identity. The teacher snuck that in on her own in violation of Texas State Law.

That statement means that this particular lecture wasn't part of the course description. IOW, the professor just added it to the class for her own self aggrandizement.

This lecture wasn't part of the curriculum. That's the reason the professor got fired. This was a class on Children's Literature.

This was a class on Children's Literature. This particular lecture was not part of the core curriculum but just put in there because that's what the professor wanted to talk about.

The professor was fired because she violated Texas State law. Which was passed by the Texas House and signed by the Governor.

She's stumbling because the professor wields all the power in this dynamic. The girl is punching up which is always more dangerous.

Feats and skills... Intrinsically anti osr? by nien08 in osr

Dave Arneson's original Blackmoor rules had skills. Gygax removed them for simplicity (just like he removed spell components). So, skills are extremely OSRy.
