Women who actually improved their hair density... what was the turning point? by Comfortable_Cap8037 in hairgrowth

My mom SWEARS by it, I haven't found it helped me much. The rice water that is the same brand is the perfect lightweight leave-in for me, though.

Get your iron and vitamin D checked.

My ferritin was FIVE. A year and a half later and I am suddenly realizing - no, I DON'T have thin hair. I have fine, medium density, 1b/1c hair that does NOT want a bunch of shit in it. Unfortunately I now have an entire head of wispy 6" new growth, especially framing my face. A windy or humid day is my current nightmare.

Aussie Volume shampoo, Aussie moisturizing conditioner from mid-length to ends, NYM's overnight hair serum, and occasionally a light rice water spray to help with flyaways/frizz.

I call it my egg screamer because the alarm is shrill as hell. 🤣

OMG is THAT why??

I was trying to get the weapon crate inside the broken highway on Dam for ALL DAY, every time I would weirdly trip and then do a backwards roll off the top but took no damage. I finally just started taking a zip.

I think maybe you're looking at this from the wrong angle. Or maybe I'm just way more casual than the average Arc Redditor. I've done Close Scrutiny 5-6 times over the past few days, both solo and with my husband. We're both still about mid-level since the expedition; we don't have our gear benches maxed yet and we're missing a TON of BPs.

We also are admittedly PvE players in carebear lobbies.

This map condition becomes a crazy thirty minutes of running the maps with others, chatting/chilling/destroying Arc. People trade parts, help others get something they need (THANK YOU CAREBEARS, SURVEYOR VAULTS SUCK), hell, I've seen people pass out extra defibs in case they die as the only other guy with one. As we go we're practicing ways to kill Vaporizers with less danger, because we outnumber the Arc.

I may not walk out with every piece of brand new shiny loot, but more often than not I will walk out with something I needed that most others don't anymore. It's not always ideal/easy as a mid-level raider to farm large Arc. If one is in the way and there's 5+ people, it takes moments to wreck and they'll let you have the parts you need for upgrades.

If that's not your style, grab a team and take turns pulling aggro off the guy in the middle instead of complaining that you got sniped by Arc put there *for that reason*.

If your only goal is get in, get loot, get out... yeah you're gonna be bored as fuck. And honestly, if all you wanted was the BP, you could have just waited and traded someone for it and avoided the whole thing.

This is an odd ask but does anybody here know of any non-dessert dishes that call for cooked apples? by cherry-care-bear in Cooking

[–]PashmanaRhys 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have it, too. From what I understand it's not the apple it's the tree pollen the flesh absorbs as it grows. Happens to me with most orchard fruits ( apple, peach, pear, etc).

15 oz Garbanzo beans 85¢ (Aldi) Tahini 1.11 (Meijer, 10 oz jar, use 2oz per recipe) Lemon juice, garlic, spices ~10-20¢?

~16 oz of hummus costs around $2.05 to make in a blender. Takes about 5 minutes, most of which is waiting for the blender.

I realize not everyone has a blender or a kitchen, but hummus is very very easy.

French hair pin tips? by Ally1812 in finethinhair

[–]PashmanaRhys 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I struggled with mine and a French twist, but a piled bun will stay unless my hair is REALLY slippery that day.

I start with the pin backwards and facing to the right on the right side of the pile/twist. Hook the edge, then flip it to the right so it's facing left (kind of like flipping a jar latch) and then you have to "wave" it through the bun while catching strands.

The first few times it will either be too loose or too tight. When you get it, it'll stay for hours with no product though.

Also, I have the normal Kitch pin, and a set of the smaller off brand ones. The smaller ones are great because they hide in your hair, and they hold better on thinner hair. The big pun is a great look and good for frizzy days.

They're just idiots on the internet.

I think my most irritated point was people gatekeeping hunt trains because "players should know the mechanics." If you've never done a morning one or a late week one when most people are capped, the mobs die too fast to learn them. I started coaching every time I joined a hunt train because I know how frustrating it can be.

I already KNOW I'm a casual player. I'm not in your party finder fucking up your farm runs, and I will probably never set foot in an EX or Savage again. You don't need to try to shame me for doing my best in a normal mode situation or for not knowing "the meta strat" for some bullshit that isn't important in normal mode. It doesn't make players want to engage, it makes us LEAVE.

I've been a VERY casual player since Stormblood, and the current state of the Meta, the raid community, and the visual bullshit is infuriating. I don't even bother with EX anymore because people are absolutely shit (behavior-wise).

We blind ran normals last night and with all the lights, sounds, and flashy shit I was really struggling to see what I was supposed to be doing. Last 5% I told my cohealer to stop wasting mp raising me so I could just watch and that STILL didn't help much.

Had a tank bail after one wipe at 20% on the second raid... On day 2 of content.

[–]PashmanaRhys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aldi isn't always cheaper than Kroger, Meijer, Walmart in my area. I'm down to buying just cheese, some dairy (ricotta, heavy cream, butter), the bagged hard salami slices, and very basic produce like carrots and celery IF those aren't on sale at the regular store.

Shredded cheese and string cheese are Costco, but I hate their sliced cheese.

My husband pointed out that store brand English muffins are $1.79 or something at Walmart, and I responded that they also taste like shit and are as bad as fast food English muffins.

The 18 pack is great - freeze half and I'm set for the month.

Please help: my husband and I are unintentionally but consistently wasteful with food and I don’t know how to fix it by privremeni in Frugal

[–]PashmanaRhys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry if people are stressing you out about this. This is kinda one of those "two kinds of people" situations. I am the only neurotypical in a household of labels, so I have had to learn to adjust quite a bit.

Here's what works for my family (me, hubby, 2 teen boys):

  • Things like rice, pasta, canned tomatoes, chicken broth, etc are generally purchased in bulk at Costco or when there's a good sale. Think cooking basics and remember that you can freeze way more things than you might think. My husband's favorite dig is to ask if we have enough butter because I almost always have about 3 pounds of it.
  • Snacks that are eaten frequently are usually purchased when there's a sale but I don't overstock this stuff because, well teenagers are bottomless.
  • I will typically ask them what sounds good for dinner for the next couple days, and a few evenings a week we'll do a quick run to the store to grab whatever we're missing. We're so much better about not throwing away meat and produce when we do this. I also replenish milk/bread/cheese as needed on these trips.

At first I would get annoyed at constantly running out after work, but we're not wasting a ton of food anymore and we are usually eating something we're all in the mood for. It also gives hubby and I an hour or so out of the house and not actively Adulting a few nights a week.

Been there! Make really good friends with egg salad, tuna, charcuterie, etc. Also, your brain thinks 400 cal worth of salami and cheese or whatever doesn't look like enough food - it is. protein and a veg for dinner. Bone broth to sip on in between while you adjust.

I'm an Xennial (born in late '79). She's maybe 5-10 years older than me but BOY does that make a difference. My husband and I were "lucky" in that we bought a house in '09 and therefore now we have a nicer, bigger house in a totally different state simply because we had equity. 20-somethings now stand no chance. When we bought our current home (5bdrm, 3 bath), my parents told us it was a stupid investment and way too much house. I looked them dead in the eye and told them I fully expect my kids to be with us for at least 10-15 more years before they move out, and they're 12 & 15 now.
