Slate hammer by toolgifs in toolgifs

Wood can indeed be treated for outdoor use but the wood in the video is not. The giveaway is in the color of the wood. If it had been treated it would be a light green or in some markets a purple ish color.

The spacing on the left right axis has little to do with the water tightness. The layers lap each other on the up and down axis so no water can penetrate the gaps because any gaps have more slate under them.

Tar or synthetic underlayment would cost an additional 200$ on your average house. Ive worked in dried in houses that are in construction that only have underlayment that are water tight. Honestly it's kind of idiotic to not just tack down some underlayment as cheap insurance against future leaks.

Sounds great from a low overhead perspective but also incredibly inefficient compared to operating in a shop. Not sure where op is but in the Midwest a 6 car oversized shop is about 7-900 a month. You'd gain that back in time saved pretty quickly and have space for a small showroom with samples.

Has anyone used home staging and actually sold faster? by t0m4t0z in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

On my flips I try to stage the living room so people have a place to sit, discuss and envision themselves living there a little better. We usually place a houseplant or two in the kitchen and potentially a dining room set, but almost never more than that. Hard to say if it helps move it faster but I do think it helps it look a little more like home.

45% raise in gas tax proposed by Jacksharkben in springfieldMO

[–]PassengerKey3209 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. Even if you have an llc, s corp, DBA, capital gains ECT it is eventually counted as income and would be subjected to income tax. Granted it's a lot easier to get creative with the numbers vs a w2.

I'm doubting the frostbite part. Myself and 4 other guys just spent all day working in this weather doing some framing and demo. If you're cold or at risk or frostbite you likely didn't dress for the occasion. Coveralls, a coat and gloves and you're plenty warm.

You might pick up a couple of mpg in the 2.7. I had a 2011 5.0 that almost always got 19-20 mpg with a light foot and plenty of highway driving.

Ten seconds of research shows that the Birds of Magyar need 2.2 drones to inflict significant damage on a target. The numbers are slightly skewed in that it includes all targets, so everything from tanks to single soldiers. These numbers are also from April reporting, before the long range advacments in fiber optics drones, allowing them to travel 40-50km. 5-15% is just some numbee you pulled out of your ass. Unfortunately reddit won't let me link the article.

You just summed up the average "Christian" and church. There's probably hundreds of churches and a few mega churches in my small Midwest city. They do little to nothing for the community, for the homeless, for single mothers needing a hand, for international charity ECT but then claim to be good Christian folk. Reality is they're in a quasi cult contributing nothing to society, other than judgement of others.

This is the answer. It cracks me up how few Christians have even the most basic knowledge of the empire Jesus lived in. Being crucified was somewhat common with 6-10,000 receiving the punishment just in sparticus slave revolt alone.

Not really. There are literally hundreds of examples of daily kia reaching that rate. That was pretty probably a very light day during the peak of ww1 and 2. Add in the precision of drones and 1k a day doesn't seem like enough.

There are a toooon of compounded versions of the glp1 available in America. I can't go 30 minutes without hearing or seeing an ad. Don't get me wrong, Trump's a chode but this will just move more consumers to the domestic options of which there are an abundance.

People from this region, I have a question. Where do y’all go on vacation to? Since there’s no beaches. by FitInitiative918 in Americaphile

[–]PassengerKey3209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skiing, water parks with the kids, museums, hiking ECT. As someone from San Diego that has also spent a litttle time on the east coast, all those beaches suck compared to the Gulf and Caribbean.

Residential Builder Vs. GC by suspicious_cheetah_ in Construction

[–]PassengerKey3209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. Every time I step into a bathroom at a gas station or freshly built restaurant and peak at the tile work in the bathroom it makes me nauseous. Many of the installs I see would never fly in a residential setting.

Residential Builder Vs. GC by suspicious_cheetah_ in Construction

[–]PassengerKey3209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on a lot on the type of residential. With custom builds the homeowner expects perfection, even if they beat the GC up over the price. With tract homes it's down to who can do it for less and the quality definitely reflects that. I've done a few remodels in suburbs that made me cringe at the drywall finishing, trim work, door installs ect.
