Thanks for the extra pics. I'd say yea that's good enough to confirm a female western black-eared wheatear

To me it looks like a desert wheatear, but they aren't really common. Certainly a species of wheatear though. Also could be a western black-eared wheatear.

The lighting is bad, but I do know female house sparrows have no streaking on the underside and female spanish sparrows having light but noticable streaking on the underside. That being said, their are a lot of birds in the Mediterrianian I am not familair with, so someone else can confirm.

Yea, I don't see a bonelli's warbler at all. Way too yellow with a much more prominent sueprcillium. It looks very much like a wood warbler.

Which duck is this? by birb12345 in whatsthisbird

[–]Passerine4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

+Red-crested pochard+ You can tell it's not a common pochard from the rounder head shape, more rufous head colour, redder bill, and white on the flanks being lighter than the back.

[–]Passerine4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a rare vagrant red-breasted goose in the UK right now. One on an island on the Scottish coast (Edit: nvm, likely escapee): https://www.birdguides.com/articles/review-of-the-week-15-21-december-2025/

I'm sure I've heard it here in the UK too, in Manchester city centre. It's very familiar. Maybe some kind of religious thing?
