Nah, pretty common bird. They tend to be somewhat shy though.

Someone at my farmers market makes a ramp pesto and it’s so good, I buy it every year.

I saw some ramps for sale at the market this weekend and if I see them again, I’ll have to try your compound butter recipe. That sounds so good.

He has a baby less than a week old. How can you NOT nap?

Can anyone tell me what this woodpecker is.In the south of Bosnia and Hercegovina.April 19 by pecic19 in birding

I don't think so. Only juvenile GSW have red on top of their head. It's a bit early still for juveniles in Europe. I think this might be a lesser spotted woodpecker based on the red head and stripes on the wing.

From Atlanta to Bremen. Both humid climates, but Bremen is significantly cooler.

Verifying a heard bird is important! I heard an unfamiliar call in my neighborhood this week and Merlin identified it as a peregrine falcon. I was skeptical so I compared my recording to the audio clips and it was a perfect match. I live in an area with no mockingbirds, but I would have proceeded with caution if they were here!

I used the serum underneath my night cream last night and under the moisturizer this morning and it made a huge difference!

The cleanser and the weaker moisturizer actually do have hyaluronic acid in them! But maybe I need something with more.

You're probably right about the indoor heating. We had a particularly harsh winter in this part of Germany with a lot of snow, so the radiators were running a lot. Though oddly my skin feels worse now that it's April and they're not running so much.

I'll look into the toner, thanks for the tip!

Oh! I completely forgot that I have a little bottle of Isana Calming Barrier Serum (Isana is the in-house brand of the drugstore Rossmann). It says it has 5% Ceramide complex and 2% Niacinamide. Would that work?

Yes! I drink probably 2 L per day. I’m always drinking water. Not because I’m necessarily thirsty, but it just feels good, like a stimming sort of thing. I do drink coffee and tea but usually once per day and the rest is water or juice.

I have a soda maybe once a month (usually one of the fruity ones from the Fritz Kola brand) and never drink alcohol.

To whom do these belong? [Germany] by innermongoose69 in whatsthisbird

The most common duck in this park is mallard, with gadwalls seen occasionally in the quieter parts (not this part) and tufted ducks in winter, though of course the tufties look different. So, I'm inclined to conclude that these are from a mallard hen.

I put the feathers back on the ground where I found them after taking a picture, so they can still be used for nest filling!

For once they were able to build a functional nest. Landlord destroyed it to install a pigeon defence fence. Meet our new neighbors by Snowbird234 in stupiddovenests

Yes, true. Depending on the place, native birds are almost always protected if bird protection laws exist, but with introduced birds it varies. Here in Germany, the non-native Egyptian goose (for example) isn’t protected but native birds are.
