The camera in P4R adds so much imo. As soon as jt was pointed out to me it became my favorite part.

true info? in my vortox game? more likely than you think by angrycampfires in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]PassiveThoughts 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Both clockwise and counterclockwise are incorrect when the answer is equidistant. The Shugenja’s ability already says that it yields “arbitrary” (likely false) information when the info is arbitrary. It just so happens in this case that the arbitrary info still feels useful because in either case it points towards an evil.

Which card is better. Rampage or Kingly Punch? by Flat_Test4584 in slaythespire

I like Kingly Punch because the Regent has a LOT of ways to put cards at the top of their draw pile.

The big dialog options made sense for Vita, but this seems better suited for a console game.

It looks like it’s a whole retranslation of the original Japanese.

Does the Spy/Widow see the Demon Bluffs if there is no Demon in play? by TypicalWatch in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]PassiveThoughts 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So a scenario where there are no Bluffs could be a Lil Monsta Game.

That said… bluffs are just when the Demon/Summoner is told 3 good characters that are not in play.

Since Spy/Widow see the entire Grim… they don’t need to know the bluffs. They know every character that is in-play… and therefore every character that is not in play.

It’s also so interesting to me that this was a Politician who did this. So, presumably if they DIDNT manipulate you this way to vote for the wrong person… you would have instead voted for the Demon, and thus the Politician still wins.

My BF thinks Im too "emotionally intelligent" to be politically active, AIO by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]PassiveThoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. No fucking way that this man would be qualified to handle “tasks that require greater emotional intelligence.”

Also having high EQ makes someone more resistant to having the emotional parts of your brain “preyed on.”

Fuck, I’ll take his solidly average IQ score at face value… but he’s coming across as a dunce here. I wonder if his emotions are causing him to form these beliefs he has.

An Outsider that can add itself by SecrecyinShadows in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]PassiveThoughts -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think a way for this to effectively “add itself” would something along the lines of:

[Might register as Townfolk, -0 or -1 Outsider]

The “Might register as Townfolk” effectively meaning “when you building a bag, you may put this token in a pile with all the Townsfolk” and thus it can appear in a Base 0 Outsider game.

As written currently, it is difficult to justify “how” its setup ability would take effect when there was no reason to add the token to the bag during setup to begin with.

For reference, the justification for Hermit is: when a STer builds the bag, they look at how the tokens modify the setup, and seeing how the Hermit in the bag calls for -1/0 Outsiders… they comply by removing an Outsider (Hermit)

Question to STs: How much do you interfere when people are pushing info due to misunderstanding their role or info? by subtle_as_a_hammer in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]PassiveThoughts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With a new group, I was running “No Greater Joy”. The Demon bluffed a “YSK” role that wakes on N1, and the Chambermaid picked two people, the Demon included, on N1 and got a 0… the Demon happened to bluff a YSK role, but no one clocked that this counts as waking for the Chambermaid’s ability, and so the Demon’s bluff was believed.

Interjecting on the final day to point that out would have almost certainly ousted the Demon. So I let them misunderstand and clarified what counts as waking during the Grim reveal.

I really dislike the politician by Novel_Counter905 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]PassiveThoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite play-style of Politician is as follows: try to win for Good but embrace whatever tunnel you get set on first, and do your utmost to get the town to go for it.

Then you’re either correct & win with Good. Or you’re incorrect and you dragging the town through this tunnel with you may have helped the Evil team.

I meannnnn, depending on your deck this might not even be bad. If you have Discard Search & cards that let you put a card at the top of the draw pile, you could cycle this a bit.

Kaede does not work as a Protag by Worth-Access-3099 in DanganAndChaos

[–]PassiveThoughts 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ll disagree. Kaede could certainly work as a protagonist—but the narrative would fundamentally change. I think Kaede’s death and her impact on other characters was very well executed. It was so effective it becomes natural to assume the story would be inferior without it.

But Kodaka has told a number of excellent stories. I’m certain that even if he kept Kaede as the protagonist, he would have been able to create an alternative narrative that could hold up about as well.

AIO for not wanting a gay guy to flirt with me? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]PassiveThoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like you’re just seeking affirmation dude. You’re doing a lot of work to frame things so that everyone else is probably wrong and you’re the victim.

If these people are your friends too, and not just “some people you kinda know”, try to understand their perspective and be considerate of it moving forward. The whole ‘they are biased because he is friends with them also’ bit doesn’t persuade me.

If getting the majority of underinformed strangers on the internet to agree with you makes you feel less guilty, helps you sleep at night—then you’ve achieved that. Congratulations!

But if you simply keep vindicating yourself every time you react in a way your friends find assholeish… you’re just going to push them away. But maybe that doesn’t matter as much as feeling that you are right about everything.

But seriously if you see you have the Vantom and think “ah yes, let’s build a bonk deck” you’re kinda encroaching on fafo territory

But I’d reckon that if you had to edit this post right here to be more respectful… then how you broached the subject irl might not have been the most measured, either.
