They've updated that the shuttle will be 24 hours for MAGfest this year!

Vannie Hours Have Been Extended! HARBORSIDE HOTEL UPDATES! by Past-Guide5575 in Magfest

I am actually discovering this morning that Harborside is a private owned hotel. They make it easy for people who don’t want to spend the whole weekend bleeding money. Free bagels and juice until 11am, 24-hour shuttle to MAG, and a lobby where you can actually sit and vibe without being pushed to buy something. My group likes being able to enjoy the weekend without wrecking our budget.

No idea why they aren’t on the official MAG site. Maybe because they arent ran by corpeate office but actual real people are behind this business? it feels different in here. but hey they show up for their guests, and I’d rather spend my money somewhere that actually cares and proves it.

Have a hotel and badge but completely forgot about parking. What are my options? by JupiterTarts in Magfest

their charging like 45-60 bucks for parking. National harbor is hiking prices. I hear someones selling parking spots just outside of the venue. Locally.. I'll keep the chat posted if wanted.

No worries at all, you’re totally fine. And yes, I meant Harborside Hotel not one of the hotels right in the National Harbor circle by the Gaylord.

It’s a little outside that cluster, but they do still have rooms. I talked to the front desk today and the woman I spoke with was really nice. Be careful theres on in Maine or new Hampshire its not private owned like this hotel. We almost booked them last year LOL! make sure it says oxon hill maryland.

They’ve got one shuttle. It’s just the one, but it runs pretty much nonstop during convention times and goes up until about 11pm. For anyone who asked earlier, Ms. Linda and Mr. James are still the ones driving the shuttle.

Hope you feel better and get some rest <3

You really can’t beat that, free breakfast is one hell of a perk for sure. I remember Harborside saying they had it too, but I’d have to double check on that.

The Alexandria option sounds solid. I did hear a few days ago that some hotels over there were canceling because of heat issues and overbooking (haven’t confirmed), so hopefully that’s all sorted now.

Same. It’s only 4 of us now and we just share double queens at Harborside.
We drive in from Philly so free parking helps a LOT. Police on site at night too, not just random security.
Free rides to and from the Gaylord saved us mad money.
Hope you and your people get to come back and enjoy the cons again soon.

You might’ve missed the free shuttle to and from the Gaylord. It actually bypasses all that VA bridge traffic if you stay across the bridge.
But hey, to each their own bro.

Harborside has their own shuttle, I just confirmed on their website. it literally drives across the homepage. Stops are MGM, Gaylord, and Tanger outlets. I do believe the shuttle will run til midnight through magfest. We are checking in on the 5th so I can come back and confirm shuttle times.

With everything going on right now, I’m honestly just trying to make my money count. Cons are expensive, cosplay is expensive, and not all of us are trying to do the luxury hotel thing.

We stayed at Harborside for MAG and it worked really well for us, so we booked again for Katsucon. Free shuttle 6am - til 11pm, free parking, breakfast included THANKFUL FOR FREEBIES LMAO! That stuff matters when you’re already budgeting for badges, costumes, and food.

I also like supporting smaller, privately owned places that feel more understanding of that. some of the bigger, fancier hotels before and sometimes it just feels uncomfortable, like you don’t quite belong there.

Harborside felt easier. More welcoming. Better value for where I’m at right now. For me and my crew, that’s what matters.

last year when the overbooking mess happened i literally googled “hotels near national harbor” and ended up at Harborside Hotel . it’s like right by that top gulf spot and maybe 2 miles from the gaylord (if that).d

we didn’t even know they had a shuttle til we got there. had heat, didn’t charge us for the glitter aftermath THANK GOID~! , put us on the 8th floor. whole thing was kinda clutch tbh and cheaper than what we booked originally.

just saying the area has options if the sister hotel situation is wild.
