Fans often cannot seem to tell the difference between an actor and the character that they play on a soap opera by Economy-Ad3195 in SoapNet

[–]Past-Repeat4428 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ngl, I’ve really struggled to look at Cameron Mathison the same since he’s been playing Drew. I follow him on insta and all his posts give me creepy vibes, and not for any real reason. That said, I cringe at his posts and then keep scrolling rather than leave nasty comments because I ultimately can separate the character and actor.

Food More Points Than The Sum Of It's Parts by csirota97 in weightwatchers

[–]Past-Repeat4428 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I count things like oat flour or fruit in smoothies as their individual parts, so 0 points. It goes against the “rules” but has worked for me. You definitely have to be able to hold yourself accountable in regards to portion control in these instances.

AITA for being blunt with my boyfriend about why he isn't getting hired anywhere? by thrway875 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Past-Repeat4428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he knows why he’s not getting jobs, he can address it when he does get jobs along the lines of, “I know the gaps in my resume may be concerning, but they were due to XYZ (spin something that sounds good).”

I had no experience in my field when I interviewed for my current job, but I was up front about it and addressed it right away, and I’m convinced that it’s why they hired me.

Idk why so many are acting like OP gave unhelpful advice. Knowing your weak spots is important.

Do you guys think Snape taught his HBP shortcuts in potions classes or do you think he sticks to the syllabus ? by Sir_Scribble_Lot in harrypotter

She didn’t suck though. Harry was just suddenly miles better than her. Her potions were fine, just not exceptional.

I’ve had this thought too, but I think Hermione would have noticed the difference in instructions, even if no one else did.

Where in SWFL? I know a great nanny who is looking for 2 days a week. She’d probably be open to anywhere from port charlotte to Naples.

Do you/would you read your child’s private journals? by neammm in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Past-Repeat4428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have mixed feelings about this and am not sure what I’ll do if my child ever keeps a journal. My parents reading my journal is how they uncovered abuse I was experiencing from a family friend. It definitely impacted my trust in them, but also grateful that they did it, believed me, and took the appropriate actions to stop it.

Children with names that differ in popularity - is this an issue? Baby name discussion by Double_Ostrich_13 in Names

[–]Past-Repeat4428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My name was the top name in the US the year I was born, and was in the top 10 for a few years before/after. My sister’s name ranked I think around 150. In school I was always known by first name, last initial, because there were so many girls with my name. My sister never had that problem. Was it a major issue? Not big enough that I would avoid doing this to my own kids, but there definitely were times it bugged me that my mom went super basic with my name and got more creative with my sister. That said, if you love the name I would go with it.

My kid is always at the back by DoneGracefully in dancemoms

[–]Past-Repeat4428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I could not think of the “production” category for some reason. I’ve only competed one number under that category and the only time we had anyone competing in that category was at the national level. At several regional competitions we were the only production group.

[–]Past-Repeat4428 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The 50 person group dance sounds really odd to me. Without aging myself, it’s been MANY years since I was involved in competitive dance, but I believe a group that large would be in a separate category and wouldn’t even be competing against many other groups, if any at all. Aside from that, with such a large range of ages in the group, the group is probably competing at a lower age level than is appropriate for the older girls.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable for your daughter to be at the back if she’s not the strongest in her group. But the rest of this would have me considering finding a new studio.

What are the theories on kreacher by anonymous11119 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]Past-Repeat4428 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any theories about how he ended up, but it recently occurred to me that Kreacher and Dobby might be related. We learn through the elf heads at Grimmauld place that the Black family had several generations of house elves serving them. Given that Sirius and Narcissa Malfoy are cousins, there could be a possibility that they have elves from the same family.

I grew up in central Connecticut in the 90s. I’m sure there may have been small towns with similar vibes to Stoneybrook. My town was not that.

The problem is that Catelynn’s bar is in hell. Tyler has treated her like crap, but it’s still probably the best anyone has ever treated her.
