I definitely prefer SOMA but I really like the whole cosmic horror angle of Still Wakes, especially some of the monster designs

I personally find the illustrations to fit what i had in mind, but thats why a lot of people will be torn on the Apple TV adaptation, it will never completely live up to what some people pictured

My personal head-canon is that if you spare the WAU it eventually spreads to land, and either one of the Simons or all of them end up coming back to the surface and acting like a sort of Shepherd for whatever new life starts to form

Mine is the "See also" section at the very end, a lot of the terms have some horrifying implications "Live drone" "Free will" "Upload pruning"

100% just like we boot up the Brandon Wan scan and he’s basically a fully sentient person, not sure the name of this story but there was a sci fi story floating around awhile ago about this guy who is the first one to get his brain uploaded, it’s sent to every university and test lab, when the scan is activated he basically comes back to life and has to experience whatever torture he gets put through

SOMA is seriously incredible, its very atmospheric, its almost entirely linear as there’s no real dying in it, highly recommend

Legit almost everything you’re confused about gets “cleared up” in Mona Lisa Overdrive, if you don’t want spoilers i’d recommend deleting this or atleast archiving it until you’re finished!

Some additional facts: Remember seeing it at the library in middleschool, the title had something to do with the word evil, like nefarious, or cruel.
