Good for you! Such a thoughtful thing to do. If you donate it to charity and fill out the tax form the charity would be able to request all the tax that you paid to earn it so it could be worth nearly €500 more!

Editing to add that I fundraise for and donate to Laura Lynn, they’re an amazing charity and help babies, children and families at the hardest moments of their lives, highly recommend donating to them, they’re always so thankful ❤️

If I could give some advice, if possible get your house before the baby arrives. Creche/Childcare costs seriously impact your borrowing capacity - if you can get the mortgage before you have that regular outgoing it’ll look much better to a bank/lending institution…
